The aerodynamics of aircraft at high angles of attack is a subject which is being pursued diligently, because the modern agile fighter aircraft and many of the current generation of missiles must perform well at very high incidence, near and beyond stall. However, a comprehensive presentation of the methods and results applicable to the studies of the complex aerodynamics at high angle of attack has not been covered in monographs or textbooks. This book is not the usual textbook in that it goes beyond just presenting the basic theoretical and experimental know-how, since it contains reference material to practical calculation methods and technical and experimental results which can be useful to the practicing aerospace engineers and scientists. It can certainly be used as a text and reference book for graduate courses on subjects related to high angles of attack aerodynamics and for topics related to three-dimensional separation in viscous flow courses. In addition, the book is addressed to the aerodynamicist interested in a comprehensive reference to methods of analysis and computations of high angle of attack flow phenomena and is written for the aerospace scientist and engineer who is familiar with the basic concepts of viscous and inviscid flows and with computational methods used in fluid dynamics.

From the carrier launch in total darkness to the gut-dropping rolls through enemy antiaircraft fire, Peter Hunt puts you in the pilot's seat for the flight of your life.Moments after the first Gulf War began, attack pilot Pete Hunt was catapulted into the night sky from the deck of the USS Ranger. For the next six weeks, Hunt executed dozens of bombing missions into Kuwait and Iraq, including all-weather low-level attacks, A-6 Intruder missions so hazardous that they would never be flown in combat again. Whether Hunt was dropping laser-guided bombs on precision targets, supporting the Marines on the ground, or conducting attacks along the infamous “highway of death,” America's mission was clear – to force the invading Iraqi army out of Kuwait.Operation Desert Storm - America's first full-scale conflict since Vietnam - proved to the world that the U.S. military was still battle-ready after decades of Cold War and set the stage for military interventions for years to come. Hunt's gripping depiction of A-6 Intruders in combat is a thought provoking account of what America asks of her military every day. This…Gulf War memoir is excellent; it really does put the reader in the cockpit...Peter Hunt's enthusiastic account is one of the best of the type this reviewer has read in recent years. Formulation and application of a windward surface flow-field (inviscid and viscous) analysis is presented for general lifting body configurations at high angles of incidence under hypersonic perfect gas conditions. The technique applies a strip theory concept, leading to an infinite extent yawed body treatment applied in the windward surface crossflow plane for both the inviscid and viscous (boundary layer) flow fields. The boundary-layer analysis is based on the governing equations for yawed blunt body boundary layers.

The galaxy follows a logical structure. Legion Dark Operator Kel Turner believed that. To know the order of battle and how an enemy unit was organized was to know its purpose and how to destroy it. That logic existed down to the smallest scale, down to what made up life itself. To know a molecule's structure was to know its function-they were one and the same. It was no different for Kel. He was Dark Ops and Dark Ops was him. Down to his last cell and very soul. But the covert action arm of the Legion is changing. And so is he. And if Dark Ops is no longer the same, how could Kel be Kel? From fighting a gray war against a cunning adversary bent on genocide, to slogging through a jungle hell full of rabid dog-men, Kel won't stop until the mission is complete. He was his mission. But if the day comes when there would no longer be a Dark Ops for Kel, what would his mission be then? Who would he become? US Army Special Forces veteran Doc Spears together with Anspach & Cole continue Kel's saga in this gripping military sci-fi thriller. Dive in and see the realism of unconventional warriors that has made the Dark Operator series a Galaxy's Edge standout!
