Applied Electromagnetic Engineering For Magnetic Superconducting And Nano Materials

Selected, peer reviewed papers from the Seventh Japanese-Mediterranean and Central European Workshop on Applied Electromagnetic Engineering for Magnetic, Superconducting and Nano Materials (JAPMED'7), July 6-9, 2011, Budapest, Hungary

The main scope of the Ninth Japanese-Mediterranean Workshop on Applied Electromagnetic Engineering for Magnetic, Superconducting, Multifunctional and Nanomaterials (JAPMED’9) is to exploit synergies in technological advances concerning innovative materials and improved design optimization methodologies in the frame of concrete applications by bridging the gap amongst the respective scientific communities. The aims are to create appropriate links for the participants to share knowledge and experience and for the cross-fertilization of new ideas and developments in applied electromagnetics, design, analysis, new material utilization, from macro-, micro-, to nano-scale and optimization techniques including applications related to biomedical engineering, superconductivity, ultraprecision engineering, nanotechnology, energy and environment. Topics related to practical applications, operation, maintenance are also highly encouraged.

This volume contains the Proceedings (64 selected refereed papers) of the 6th Japanese-Mediterranean Workshop on Applied Electromagnetic Engineering for Magnetic Superconducting and Nanomaterials (JAPMED'6), organized in Bucharest, Romania, during July 27-29th 2009. This Workshop represented a landmark in the development of materials, manufacturing and electrical engineering; providing a forum for specialists from the universities, research centers and industries of many countries to establish links, share knowledge and experience and encourage cross-fertilization of new ideas and developments in design, analysis, novel-material utilization and optimisation techniques in the areas of applied electromagnetics. Also covered was the manufacturing of advanced materials from the macro-, to the nano-scale and their industrial application in modern technologies involving nanotechnology, electricity/electronics, superconductivity, electromagnetic engineering, transportation, bioengineering, energy and the environment. This work will thus be a boon to those interested in these topics. The volume, based on the July 2009 workshop, collects international research on the design, analysis, materials, and optimization of high-temperature superconductivity and electromagnetic manufacturing. The 64 papers explore non-destructive testing and sensors, magnetic fluids, permanent magnets, computational electromagnetics, control techniques, and electric power applications. Topics include magnesium diboride-based superconductors, the construction of development technology in Japan, magnetic torque evaluation of magnetized nanoparticles, surface induction hardening models, oblique ion etching of copper, and a square coil system for producing uniform magnetic fields.

This collection of selected, peer reviewed papers from the 10th Japanese-Mediterranean Workshop on Applied Electromagnetic Engineering for Magnetic, Superconducting, Multifunctional and Nano Materials (JAPMED’10, Izmir, Turkey on July 4-8, 2017) gives readers the coverage of results of scientific and engineering researches in the fields of modern advanced technologies: nanomaterials and applied nanotechnology, precision and ultra precision processing, functional and multifunctional materials for various branches of the modern manufacturing.

The proceedings of this International Symposium focus on recent advances and current research in the study of electromagnetic phenomena in advanced materials, and the potential applications of such research in a variety of areas, including non-destructive testing, steel-making, and nuclear and electrical engineering. Also discussed is the effect of electromagnetic fields on the micro- and macromechanics of solid materials, and the application of electromagnetics to the preparation and characterization of new superconducting materials.
