After seeing an ice cream cake in the upright freezer display at a local ice cream parlor, Beverley thought it would be a nice dessert change for the family on that hot summer day. When dishing it up, she studied that cake from top to bottom. She investigated the flavors and textures as she savored each bite. Beverley and her family, eventually, moved back to what she considers to be her hometown of Torrington, Wyoming from Alliance, Nebraska. In trying to carry on a family tradition and fulfilling the desire of her son s heart when he asked for an ice cream cake for his birthday and there wasn t anywhere to get one, she saw it as a welcomed challenge to make her own version of an ice cream cake.
