In 2003, the United States Death Certificate was revised to require information about the decedent’s gestational status at autopsy and in the year before death. The evaluation of reproductive, maternal, newborn, and child health (RMNCH) by the Disease Control Priorities, Third Edition (DCP3) focuses on maternal conditions, childhood illness, and malnutrition.
