Eleven years ago, Lieutenant William Stanton's entire world went up in flames. He lost his brother. His family. He left his old life behind to hunt down the people responsible. Avenging his brother was all he'd thought about, all he'd done, for a decade. A sexy little assassin shouldn't be able to distract him from that goal, but he never counted on the feelings Colt would spark in him. Colt 'Shadow' Castillo has a job to do. A very important one that could stop a terrorist, but he had to go rogue from the CIA to do it. His handler sending someone to retrieve him isn't surprising. He never expected it to be the missing lieutenant of the Black Raiders, though. Teaming up with the man certainly wasn't on his to-do list, but the attraction he feels for Will isn't exactly driving him away. With people to save, a job to do, and a terrorist to stop, can Colt allow himself to trust Will and the feelings he has for him? Can Will convince Colt he's worthy of his love?

The Harpers Ferry raid confirmed for many Southerners the existence of a widespread Northern plot against slavery. In fact, Brown had raised funds for his raid from Northern abolitionists. To arm the slaves, he ordered one thousand pikes from a Connecticut manufacturer. Letters to Governor Wise betrayed the mixed feelings people held for Brown. For some, he was simply insane and should not be hanged. For others, he was a martyr to the cause of abolition, and his quick trial and execution reflected the fear and arrogance of the Virginia slave-owning aristocracy. Many Northerners condemned Brown's actions but thought him right in his conviction that slavery had to end. John Brown's raid on Harpers Ferry and his subsequent execution further polarized North and South and made a solution of the slavery issue central to the national debate which ultimately led to Civil War in 1861.

In the darkest of times... they shone brighter than the stars. Many are the stories of that mysterious land of Russia. Stories of heroes who gave their lives for God, Tsar, and country, and who left legacies that many a young child aspired to. Of course, so many of those stories are legends, a lifeline for people who had lost everything, and who preferred to remember a semi-fictional history that left out some of the more disturbing details. But in spite of history's dark reality, you still have bright lights appearing in unexpected places—heroes and heroines whose lives read like adventure tales, whose fates are sometimes stranger than fiction. This little book is a glimpse into the world of that Russia— a world filled with complex characters living out difficult lives in sometimes impossible circumstances. But more often than not, these heroes and heroines rose above all difficulties to become truly inspiring. In our own chaotic time, their stories are worthy of being retold again and again. If you want to be inspired by stories of true heroism in dark times, buy Heroes for All Time today!

fter the collapse of the interstellar Federation, human civilization descended into a new Dark Age as planets, cut off from Earth and each other reverted to a lower tech level. After centuries of struggling to pull themselves back up by their bootstraps, they face a new and terrible threat. Raiders with faster-than-light ships and contra-gravity tanks steal anything they want and kill anyone that gets in their way. This military SF novel is the story of three generations of a family as they fight to protect their planet and loved ones from the forces of chaos. Excerpt: He quickly checked the distance to the mine site and compared that with the missile’s own effective range and the X-12’s speed. There was a slim chance of getting within firing range before the enemy ships got too high. The throttles were already pushed as far forward as they could go, but there was one more thing Strider could try in order to get more speed. He initiated the afterburners, which poured fuel directly into the hot engine exhaust, causing secondary combustion and additional thrust. The sudden surge in speed felt like someone had just kicked him in the back. The enemy ships were starting to gain altitude faster now. The distance between them and the X-12 was dropping faster too, but there was no way to know for sure if it was dropping fast enough. With seconds to go until the enemy ships got within missile range, Strider armed the warhead, opened the weapons bay and lowered the missile’s launch platform. The fuel exhaustion warning light lit up, and he heard the accompanying warning alarm that he was almost out of fuel. Landing without fuel was going to be a bitch, but he couldn’t worry about that now. He had to focus on getting within firing range. Without radar, there was no way to know for sure, but his estimated position relative to the mine site told him that the enemy ships were now within missile range. He activated the Mark 3 warhead’s guidance system, which would begin radar scanning as soon as the missile launched and pressed his thumb down on the red firing button.
