This book contains fundamental guidelines that are necessary for continuing long term business success. Contemporary business practices are very fast moving and changeable. This creates a "fog" of business for even the most dedicated businessman or woman. They become bombarded by a variety of compelling situations, simultaneously, that cause chaotic conditions. The business person can easily loose focus and become confused. These conditions can become overwhelming. In the struggle for order, the most basic concepts of good and successful business practice - the axioms - become over looked, lost or inadvertently abandoned. When this happens the business person is prone to make avoidable mistakes that can threaten the business and put it at risk. This book provides reference to these critical axioms in simple but compelling straight forward language. They enable the business person to refocus and concentrate on decision making that protect core business fundamentals. Beneficial long term strategies can be put to use instead of short term tactics that, in practice, solve nothing. The axioms will help the business person restore stability under difficult business conditions that are all too frequent.

Most observers consider E Y Mullins, president of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary from 1899 to 1928, to be the most influential Southern Baptist theologian and denominational leader of the twentieth century. This title sets a fresh standard in Mullins study and in the study of Baptist history by restoring Mullins to his rightful place.

AC, the axiom of choice, because of its non-constructive character, is the most controversial mathematical axiom. It is shunned by some, used indiscriminately by others. This treatise shows paradigmatically that disasters happen without AC and they happen with AC. Illuminating examples are drawn from diverse areas of mathematics, particularly from general topology, but also from algebra, order theory, elementary analysis, measure theory, game theory, and graph theory.

This book provides a concise and self-contained introduction to the foundations of mathematics. The first part covers the fundamental notions of mathematical logic, including logical axioms, formal proofs and the basics of model theory. Building on this, in the second and third part of the book the authors present detailed proofs of Gödel’s classical completeness and incompleteness theorems. In particular, the book includes a full proof of Gödel’s second incompleteness theorem which states that it is impossible to prove the consistency of arithmetic within its axioms. The final part is dedicated to an introduction into modern axiomatic set theory based on the Zermelo’s axioms, containing a presentation of Gödel’s constructible universe of sets. A recurring theme in the whole book consists of standard and non-standard models of several theories, such as Peano arithmetic, Presburger arithmetic and the real numbers. The book addresses undergraduate mathematics students and is suitable for a one or two semester introductory course into logic and set theory. Each chapter concludes with a list of exercises.
