Like a "BAT OUT OF HELL" By: Arthur George Edgerton Arthur George Edgerton was born in 1929 in Fairmont, West Virginia. He currently resides in Chicago, Illinois. He enjoys playing the piano and plays for fun whenever he gets the chance. He graduated from Loop College with an Associate's Degree in music in 1981. He wrote this novel about his own life experiences and the dangerous and immoral acts that he repeatedly committed. He feels grateful to have lived through his experiences and hopes the readers learn from his mistakes. He wants others to see that any secret or immoral act can be deadly so that they understand the consequences of their actions prior to making a poor judgement in their life. Arthur grew up near the coal mines in West Virginia, where his father worked for thirty years. He survived many traumas and challenges throughout his life and lived to write about all of them. He suffered the tragic losses of several siblings and lost touch with loved ones. As a teenager, he was arrested and eventually sent away to a reform school by his parents. He eventually served almost seven years at the now closed West Virginia State Penitentiary. Arthur also lived a risky adulthood as a gay man with a very active sex life that he discusses in this fascinating memoir.

Finding a body facedown in a chocolate fountain isn't exactly the way earth witch Zola Meadows wanted to start her day. Even worse, her sweet old lady neighbor, Lilly Martinelli, is arrested for the crime. The evidence against Lilly is flimsy at best, and Zola vows to clear her name. Not only to make sure justice is served, but also to get rid of the trouble making cat that Lilly has entrusted to her care while she's in jail. Luck is on her side. Lilly's hotter-than-heck pie-making nephew wants to help. Then again, maybe that's not such a good idea. Not just because Zola has a romantic past with him, but also because he soon bubbles up to the top of her suspect list. Zola finds herself wading through a maze of clues and suspects: cheating husbands, purse-grabbing friends, shopping-obsessed daughters, not to mention a little creature running around town tormenting tourists with bad breath and sticky brown goo. With pressure from the coven elders and a sheriff itching to close the case, Zola must put her magical skills to the test in order to discover the true identity of the killer before Lilly's time runs out.

Spell-binding Spells is a book for everyone who loves cricket. It is about stunning spells—those few overs that occur rarely in cricket, when bowlers weave magic and batsmen are mesmerized. What did the stunning bowling spells of Anil Kumble, Narendra Hirwani, Ravichandran Ashwin, Padmakar Shivalkar, and Yuzvendra Chahal achieve that Kapil Dev’s career best spell could not? Curtly Ambrose and Sarfraz Nawaz, 14-years apart, bowled identical deadly spells against the same opposition taking 7 wickets for 1 run. Who were the hapless victims? Why did Gary Gilmour of Australia with an ODI bowling average of 10.31 and Clarrie Grimmett of Australia after taking 13 wickets in a Test in two magnificent spells, never play for their respective countries again? Spell-binding Spells looks at 50 of the most magnificent bowling spells in the history of cricket and answers some of these questions. VVS Laxman says: “This book is a tribute to bowlers, a breed that has never profited from the benefit of the doubt in a sport whose rules have historically always favoured batsmen. This nice little treatise is a reminder that we must ensure that the history of this game continues to get passed on from one generation to the next.”

'A passionate, pacey tome you should do anything for a copy of' - Kerrang! **** "I never wanted to be a big star. I just wanted to be the biggest at what I do! Powerful, unstoppable, heavy - when that word still meant something good!" - Meat Loaf, as told to Mick Wall Everything in the story of Meat Loaf is big. From the place he was born (Texas); to the family he was born into (his father weighed 22 stone, his uncle weighed over 40 stone, while Meat Loaf himself weighed 17 stone before he was even in his teens); to the sound he made (a colossal collision between Richard Wagner, Phil Spector and Bruce Springsteen); and of course the records he sold - nearly 50 million in Britain and America alone. Now, on the eve of the 40th anniversary of Bat Out of Hell, the album that gave rise to Meat Loaf's astonishing career, and the premiere of Bat Out Of Hell: The Musical, Mick Wall, who has interviewed Meat Loaf on numerous occasions throughout his career, pulls back the curtains to reveal the soft-hearted soul behind the larger-than-life character he created for himself. From a tumultuous childhood with an alcoholic father to the relentless abusive bullying he endured, nobody could have predicted Meat Loaf's meteoric rise to fame. But when the messianic rock opera Bat Out of Hell was released in 1977, it became one of the biggest albums of all time, selling over 45 million copies worldwide to date. Its release marked the start of a rollercoaster ride of incredible highs and seemingly career-ending lows. By the 80s, Meat Loaf was battling with drug and alcohol addiction and escalating money problems that would eventually lead to a nervous breakdown. But just when it seemed like it was all over, the astonishing success of Bat Out of Hell II and the mega-hit 'I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)' marked an extraordinary new wave of success. Now, Mick Wall will bring this extraordinary story up to date, drawing on the hours he spent with Meat Loaf, both in interviews and on tour, as well as offering up a unique insight from those who have known him best.

A young, accident-prone wizard-in-training meets up with characters from Camelot in this magical series bursting with thrills, spills, and spells! Max Pendragon is probably the worst squire in King Arthur's kingdom -- he'd much rather train to be a wizard instead. So when he accidentally invents a spell that turns people into frogs, it seems his wish might come true. But events take an unexpected turn when Max enters the Novices' Spell-Making Competition and finds himself helping Merlin fight an evil sorceress. There's no way Max's unpredictable frogspell could be of any use! Or is there . . .? The first in a four-book series, Frogspell revisits the magical time of King Arthur with a story that is fresh, funny, well-plotted and perfectly paced. A cast of memorable characters, including Max's quirky pets Ferocious, a world-weary rat, and Adolphus, an over-enthusiastic young dragon -- plus spells gone awry, a dangerous competition and evil schemes make for an irresistible retelling of this timeless legend.
