THERE IS A WAR FOR YOUR MIND! Our minds are the main battlefield we fight on. It is here where we decide what to believe or disbelieve. What we believe determines whether we are victorious or defeated in life. No one can do your thinking for you. This book will aid you in developing a victorious mindset. It will help you become the soldier of Jesus Christ you are called to be. One does not become a soldier of Jesus Christ overnight. It is a process of developing a winner's attitude and learning the weapons of our warfare. I propose that our main battle is not with demons, but with mental strongholds. Demons can only dwell in places of darkness or strongholds built on lies. When these lies are repented of the oppressing demons must leave as the light of truth invades and destroys those strongholds. This happens as the believer confesses the truth of God's word and believes it. After the believer believes the truth of God's word they begin to live these truths out in their lives. Their life becomes a testimony to others and encourages others to become over comers. My hope is that everyone reading this book develops a stronghold of hope. That they will believe they can overcome and possess their mountain or promises. This book will challenge you to overcome your ungodly strongholds or lies you believe and help you to see the role you play in changing the world around you. Jesus Christ is raising up a victorious Church that is overcoming the darkness of this age. It is not a timid Church, but a bold Church. Many believers are wounded emotionally and spiritually. In order for these believers to fight they must be healed. In this book you will find healing for abuse and trauma. Like any great general Jesus Christ visits the wounded in the camp and encourages them. He will visit you through this book and heal you. You will become strong again and serve in Christ's army!

STAND THEREFORE is a "field Guide" for Christian soldiers of all ages regardless of military service or length of time as a Christian. Scott A. Harrison (Author) uses his time deployed to Operation Desert Storm as a springboard into how to be an effective soldier for Christ. During his time in Operation Desert Storm, Scott began to see a relationship between that of a soldier in the US Army and a soldier in the Lord's Army. 10 years or so passed and one day while sitting in his office, he came across the Soldiers Manual of Common Tasks (SMCT) which was issued during his time in Basic Training. Thumbing through the SMCT, he began to write about the relationship between an Army soldier and that of a Christian. 3 years later, "Stand Therefore" was completed. We are at war. This war began in the Garden of Eden and will end on a bloody battlefield in a place called Armageddon. The entire Bible is about this war. Satan is the enemy, and Christ has already won the victory. This book is not about Satan's attack on the world in general but rather about his attack on each of us as individual Christians in our role as individual soldiers in God's army. The time has come for all Christians to stand and fight - not a carnal war with rifles, bayonets, and hand grenades but a spiritual war. In my lifetime I have seen the rapid decline of our great nation. War has reached our borders. As the United States of America, the last great hope for accomplishing Christ's Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) to evangelize the world falls to the wiles of the devil, most Christians stand on the sidelines despairing that anything can be done. We are to don the spiritual armor God has given us and fight that souls might be saved. Our Great Commander, the Lord Jesus Christ, died and rose again that we might have life and live a more abundant life. The Lord Jesus Christ paid the price for our sin before we realized we needed such a payment and by doing so, secured our salvation. Christ left with us the Holy Spirit by which we have the strength to stand. Having done all to stand, stand therefore (Ephesians 6:13-14).

What does it mean to be a conqueror in Christ's army? In fact, the question really is, what does it mean to be not only a conqueror, but more than a conqueror and good soldier in Christ's ranks? Oakes, in this wonderful work on answering that question, dives deep into Paul’s statement in Romans 8:37, “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” The truth proclaimed by Oakes is that there is a “more than ordinary triumph” over all those enemies that oppose themselves against the progress and advancement of a Christian in his way to the fruition of the sweet fruits of the everlasting love of God in Jesus Christ. That all true believers have a transcendent, and incomparably glorious conquest and victory in all their severe engagements with the enemies of their peace and happiness, through the love of God in Christ Jesus. Every true believer is a soldier, and engaged in a warfare. Every true believer has a constant fighting work before God, and there is no end of his war in this world, not any time in which he can stop fighting. Yet, a true believer is never totally and absolutely conquered in any engagement with the enemies that war against him. Every true believer manages a successful war, and is sure of a conquest. A believer’s victory and conquest are incomparably glorious. Every believer obtains this glorious victory and conquest through the Lord Jesus Christ. The love of God in Christ is the absolute first cause of those victorious proceedings, and this infallible conquest of believers. These believers are the greatest soldiers who have ever lived, and are comforted in their fight by the blessings of Almighty God through Christ. All believers must know and consider that they are soldiers in Christ’s army, and have a fighting work, a warfare, before them until they reach heaven. They must, as faithful soldiers, improve their skill in fighting, and harness the spiritual power of the everlasting Gospel of Jesus for their victory. We wait, and pray, and look, and long for that glorious day, when our warfare shall be ended, and we shall go out of the field victorious, and triumphant, as absolute conquerors. This work is not a scan or facsimile, has been carefully transcribed by hand being made easy to read in modern English, and has an active table of contents for electronic versions.

This book encompasses certain fundamental truths that children must know in order to establish a solid foundation as believers in Jesus Christ. They ought to know the Truth and be able to share it with others. It is relevant, appeals to their imaginations, and causes them to establish, at an early age, a solid foundation in Christ. It covers a wide cross section of topics ranging from Eden to Heaven. It is conversational, witty, and uniquely embraces a combination of story-telling and poetry.
