Many of the planned actions have been implemented, such as the formation of the Provincial Infectious Diseases Advisory Committee (PIDAC) and the formation of Regional Infection Control Networks (RICN), but there still are no standards for infection prevention and control programs or for the practice of infection prevention and control in health care settings in Ontario. The recommendations were developed using the best available evidence and consensus methods by the Infection Control Steering Committee.
