Author Stuart Holroyd, a skeptical but well-informed, open-minded researcher of the paranormal, became observer to a remarkable group of U.S. psychics headed by a famous American scientist, Andrija Puharich, and an English aristocrat, Sir John Whitmore. The group, called "Lab Nine" or "The Council of Nine," claimed they had made contact with galactic intelligences circling the earth, called "The Nine." The group claimed that The Nine was "selecting" human minds and interacting with them, thus hastening our evolution, a claim that raises the following questions: Did three of the "selected" minds help to avert a world disaster? Was the group in constant communication with extraterrestrials? Was it possible for these alien intelligences to effect a landing on Earth? Had these intelligences, in fact, already visited Earth in previous centuries, spurring our legends of "ancient aliens?" The story of The Nine was accepted and believed by many influential people, and has become one of the enduring legends of the 20th century, still discussed today by ufologists, parapsychologists, and interested scientists. A Hollywood writer, Gene Roddenberry, became so much of a "believer" in The Nine that he wrote a TV series exploring the same issues: "Star Trek" - one of the most popular sci-fi franchises of all time. As a nod to The Nine, Roddenberry used the name "Deep Space Nine" in the series.

Recent exciting discoveries by independent researchers have dramatically challenged our understanding of ancient Egypt, raising profound questions about our past. STARGATE CONSPIRACY exposes the most insidious & dangerous plan of our times. It involves intelligence agencies, politicians, bestselling writers, scientists & industrialists. The authors believe that this conspiracy, centred upon the eternal mysteries of ancient Egypt, targets & threatens us all. Tracing the identity of the groups involved, Lynn Picknett & Clive Prince argue that at the heart of this strange plan is the belief that the ancient Egyptian gods were-and are-real extraterrestrials, about to return through the 'stargate' between our world & theirs. They suggest that the US-funded excavations on the Giza plateau - officially denied, but for which the authors produce documented evidence - now appear to be the result of directives allegedly received through communication with beings of higher intelligence, who are instructing the conspirators to lay the foundations for great global changes. Provocative & stimulating, STARGATE CONSPIRACY is a book of and for the new millennium.

The Gods Have Landed is a comprehensive account of the religious dimension of the UFO/flying saucer experience. It examines the religious meanings attached to UFOs by the larger society as well as specific movements that claim inspiration from "Space Brothers" and other extra-terrestrial sources. It addresses the religious dimension of the phenomenon of alien abductions, particularly the impact of extra-terrestrial life on Christian theology. Of special interest are the surveys of primary and secondary materials that make this book the indispensable reference on the subject.
