This story is a recollection of primary school education in a one-room one-teacher primary school in northwest Missouri during the years 1930-1937. This tale has been written solely from the author's memory, and all events are true. The pupils, teachers, subjects, sports, and facilities are all described; using spelling and pronunciation that prevailed at the time. Comments are often made as an adult looking back at the events. The community was occupied with farming; these were very difficult years for farmers as well as for urban people. Bad weather, insects, and a depressed economy made life tough for our parents. Farming is described in the latter half of the book. We children did not realize how bad things were for our parents.
