This volume is the second part of a comprehensive catalog of hydrological phenomena associated with volcanoes. The first volume, compiled by Peter Hedervari in 1984, consisted of the submarine eruptions, new volcanic islands, tsunamis, sieches, and base surges related to volcanic activity from antiquity to the end of 1899. This volume discusses phenomena that occurred from Jan. 1, 1900, to Dec. 31, 1959. It not only treats well-understood events, but also discusses those that are more doubtful. In certain cases, Hedervari, of the Georgiana Observatory, Center for Cosmic and Terrestrial Physics, Budapest, Hungary, expresses his own view. B&W photos.
