“Bravo Pete, on a remarkable effort to pen a path of enlightenment to those who seek to advance creativity for self, teams and tribes. Your book is a symphony of data points and rather than being disjointed, it actuality seems to mirror the very nature of the zigzag connect-the-dot process inherent with the idea-generation stage of creativity. You once asked me if the idea-generation stage isn’t the hardest part for most people. If the answer is yes, then your Catalytic Thinking methodology is exactly that timely solution the world needs now – one that is simple, elegant, effective, fun and within the reach of everyone. To all prospective readers I say, “Yippee to Pete and people like him who make the going easier for the rest of us.” Chuck Scott, Founder of Avanti Group Inc, writer, photographer, websmith, and business innovation expert “With a little work on organization this book will hold the reader’s attention and make them enjoy the idea generation process you introduce to them. At its best, this book could greatly improve the lives of its readers.” An anonymous editor at Litopia Publishing, a London-based company. These comments were from an assessment of a very early version of my manuscript. I loved this positive encouragement as it was interspersed in a very candid and constructive critique. I hope you feel I did the “little work” needed to make this book its very best. For more information, please click here

This monograph consists of manuscripts submitted by invited speakers who participated in the symposium "Industrial Environmental Chemistry: Waste Minimization in Industrial Processes and Remediation of Hazardous Waste," held March 24-26, 1992, at Texas A&M University. This meeting was the tenth annual international symposium sponsored by the Texas A&M Industry-University Cooperative Chemistry Program (IUCCP). The program was developed by an academic-industrial steering committee consisting of the co-chairmen, Professors Donald T. Sawyer and Arthur E. Martell of the Texas A&M University Chemistry Department, and members appointed by the sponsoring companies: Bernie A. Allen, Jr., Dow Chemical USA; Kirk W. Brown, Texas A&M University; Abraham Clearfield, Texas A&M University; Greg Leyes, Monsanto Company; Jay Warner, Hoechst-Celanese Corporation; Paul M. Zakriski, BF Goodrich Company; and Emile A. Schweikert, Texas A&M University (IUCCP Coordinator). The subject of this conference reflects the interest that has developed in academic institutions and industry for technological solutions to environmental contamination by industrial wastes. Progress is most likely with strategies that minimize waste production from industrial processes. Clearly the key to the protection and preservation of the environment will be through R&D that optimizes chemical processes to minimize or eliminate waste streams. Eleven of the papers are directed to waste minimization. An additional ten papers discuss chemical and biological remediation strategies for hazardous wastes that contaminate soils, sludges, and water.

Innovation Book of the Year Award 2021 "Absolutely indispensable for all global leaders." Cecilia MoSze Tham, award-winning futurist "Strategic thinking to create the future of your company." Paul Almeida, Dean, Georgetown University "If disruption is of interest to you, you should read Bofarull." Soumitra Dutta, Dean, University of Oxford "Provides real models to turn challenges into opportunities." Natalia Olson, former SME advisor to President Obama "A new habit that you can systematically apply in your company." Pablo Rodriguez, Director of Google's office of the CTO With recent developments in the technology market, it may seem like the age of the Silicon Valley moonshot is over for now. Disruption and corporate resilience have become the new normal. In this book, originally written at the beginning of the pandemic, Ivan Bofarull, Chief Innovation Officer at Esade, the global business school, had the foresight to anticipate a period of retrenchment of grand corporate moonshots. Instead, he focused his research on how to embed moonshot thinking as a mindset in each company, putting this at the core of an operating system for decision making and business transformation. After reading this book, you will be better at: Adopting an entrepreneurial mindset with moonshot thinking, a mental model that aims for 10x improvements that force you to rethink your foundations from the ground up. Becoming a disruption "pro": understanding its actual meaning, which signals it emits, how to anticipate it, and how to make the most of it. Being systematic as an innovator, by designing an operating system for continuous transformation.
