Christ Our Light

The Light of Christ provides an accessible presentation of Catholicism that is grounded in traditional theology, but engaged with a host of contemporary questions or objections. Inspired by the theologies of Iranaeus, Thomas Aquinas and John Henry Newman, and rooted in a post-Vatican II context, Fr. Thomas Joseph White presents major doctrines of the Christian religion in a way that is comprehensible for non-specialists: knowledge of God, the mystery of the Trinity, the Incarnation and the atonement, the sacraments and the moral life, eschatology and prayer. At the same time, The Light of Christ also addresses topics such as evolution, the modern historical study of Jesus and the Bible, and objections to Catholic moral teaching. Touching on the concerns of contemporary readers, Fr. White examines questions such as whether Christianity is compatible with the findings of the modern sciences, do historical Jesus studies disrupt or confirm the teaching of the faith, and does history confirm the antiquity of Catholic claims. This book serves as an excellent introduction for young professionals with no specialized background in theology who are interested in learning more about Catholicism, or as an introduction to Catholic theology. It will also serve as a helpful text for theology courses in a university context. As Fr. White states in the book’s introduction: “This is a book that offers itself as a companion. I do not presume to argue the reader into the truths of the Catholic faith, though I will make arguments. My goal is to make explicit in a few broad strokes the shape of Catholicism. I hope to outline its inherent intelligibility or form as a mystery that is at once visible and invisible, ancient and contemporary, mystical and reasonable.”

GOD IS SUPREME, so far above us, that He must humble Himself to look upon the things that are in the earth, which may be understandable, however, He must also humble Himself before He can even behold the things that are in heaven! Our ultimate end goal is to be able to live in heaven for all of eternity, with the Father and with the Son! This hope of our desired eternal home is the place of our final rest in eternal comfort, joy and peace in His presence for our resurrected and glorified spiritual bodies! The God we worship is far greater than any of us can possibly even imagine! We sing the song “How great thou art,” however, the word “great,” or “awesome,” or any other word, is very much inadequate and far beneath our being able to describe the glory of God, because His glory is inconceivable to the human mind! God is above all, -- far above all! Before all,-- far before all! Encompassing all and possessing all, of everything! God is omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, all encompassing, all knowing, all powerful and answers all our concerns! He is transcendent, in that He is un-created, has always existed, is eternal and is far above His creation, He is the epitome of all perfection, righteousness, purity, holiness, peace and joy! God is all in all! There is none other like Him, nor will there ever be! The love of God is simply God’s nature!! If we would desire to have fellowship with God, we must do so within the parameters of the nature of God, being “partakers of the Divine Nature,” which is the expression of God’s pure love, which relationship has been promised to us! Jesus Christ went through the exact same things we are going through, on this earth, yet He, through the power of the Holy Spirit, overcame the world and being made perfect, “as a man,” He was fully qualified to die for each one of us, taking our sins upon Himself, paying for those sins, with His blood, fulfilling the law that says “sin must die!” He endured the terrible suffering of the cruel physical pain of the cross and the horrible agony of one being temporarily, spiritually separated from God the Father, when He took our sins upon Himself, for God cannot look upon sin! Christ, unselfishly took all of that horrific terror and pain of our sin, upon Himself, all because of His deep love for each one of us! Christ, our High Priest, is the ultimate and supreme example for us to live our lives by! However, we, within the confines of our earthly minds, are not fully able to attain to His perfection! However, through the blood of Jesus Christ, “if” we have the “boldness” to enter in to the “Holiest,” we may then fully be able to be partakers of God’s Holy Spirit, which will and does lead us into our being able to be conformed to Christ’s image! This personal presence with God, can be attained by our being silent before God, waiting on Him, in humble prayer! Do you have the “faith” and the “boldness” to enter into God’s presence?

Both the Servant and the Branch are designations in the Old Testament for the Messiah. Both present him in his humility. In Isaiah 42:1, the Messiahthe Servant is presented as the tender prophet (a passage applied to the Lord Jesus in Matthew 12:1820, KJV. Clearly, the Servant is now an individual rather than the nation of Israel as a whole. God would be delighted or well pleased with him. As the chosen one, he was to be the federal head of Gods elect people. He would be especially empowered by the Holy Spirit to carry a quiet and unassuming ministry that would compel many to flock to him and be saved by his light on their way to understanding why he, Jesus, died for their past, present, and future sins to help future generations receive salvation as an unchangeable bill and deity to all.

Christ is the portion of the believers. "There is nothing as vital or as basic to our Christian life and to the church life as the real, practical enjoyment of Christ. This enjoyment is not Christ in doctrine or in knowledge, but Christ in life, in the Spirit, and in reality. He is a living Person for us to deal with."

While doing research in 1987 Caesar Squitti noticed that many social programs dealing with the traditional family unit had been corrupted. Programs were based on deceptive half-truths; problem was that the definition of half-truth was incorrect. Observations, research and logic suggested that the world definitions of three important concepts, "truth", "half-truth" and "lie" were incorrect. There appeared to be a correlation between the new proposed definition of Truth and the scientific properties of Light. This relationship was labelled, The Jesus Christ Code: The LIGHT: The Rainbow of Truths. It is being proposed that this may indeed be the "original sin" from the Garden of Eden that has remained with us. The Light: The Rainbow of Truths, explores how we can be deceived by truth, and how this is a challenge to critical thinking in our society. Observations in a wide spectrum of related subjects include politics, social programs, health care and religion. This truth about Truth, that truth may lie, will hopefully set us free from this negative dimension to Truth and allow us to think in colors. The Truth can be stranger than fiction. The Jesus Christ Code builds "a bridge" between science and religion. This discovery may be "the key" to unlock the "gates" to the Garden of Eden. This book examines the quote posed by Pontius Pilate, "What is Truth?"
