Remote health practitioners perform a wide range of clinical procedures as a part of providing a primary health care service. This work often occurs in isolated areas, with populations experiencing high health needs and treatment delays. The CPM is designed to support this challenging role and describes 'how to do' procedures covered in the CARPA STM and WBM.

This manual has been written by remote practitioners for their remote and rural colleagues. The aim of the manual is to provide an accurate, practical and best-practice guide to many of the routine or emergency procedures which are often faced in the bush. The manual shows 'how to do' a procedure, but does not give information on treatment or management.
