This volume presents the proceedings of the 12th International Conference on the Design of Cooperative Systems (COOP 2016). The conference is a venue for multidisciplinary research contributing to the design, assessment and analysis of cooperative systems and their integration in organizations, public venues, and everyday life. COOP emerged from the European tradition of Computer Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW) and Cognitive Ergonomics. A collection of 22 papers and 4 workshop overviews are presented, reflecting the variety of research activities in the field of the design of cooperative systems with a special emphasis on “Making Together” This collection offers a broad vision of collective working practices and cooperative design, embracing the idea that design requires a deep understanding of collective activities, involving both artefacts and social practices within a context. The result is a rich and articulated debate that widens the design space towards the exploration of a variety of forms of participation and engagement in collaborative system design. Experienced researchers, academics, designers and practitioners who are interested in collaborative design theory and methods would be interested in the state of the art research and case studies this collection provides.

This book constitutes the proceedings of the 21st International Conference on Business Information Systems, BIS 2018, held in Berlin, Germany, in July 2018. The BIS conference follows popular research trends, both in the academic and the business domain. Thus the theme of BIS 2018 was "Digital Transformation - An Imperative in Today's Business Markets". The 30 papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 96 submissions. They were organized in topical sections named: big and smart data and artificial intelligence; business and enterprise modeling; ICT project management; process management; smart infrastructures; social media and Web-based business information systems; applications, evaluations, and experiences.

This book reports a set of novel research initiatives on ambient intelligence and ubiquitous computing that help researchers and practitioners identify recent advances, as well as the frontiers in these study domains. An approach to socio-technical HCI called Human Work Interaction Design (HWID) emerged around 2005. It has grown steadily, and now is the time for sharing this research with a wider audience. In this book, the HWID approach is used to discuss socio-technical HCI theory, cases, methods, and impact. The book introduces HWID as a multi-sided platform for theorizing about socio-technical HCI work design in the digital age. It presents design cases that illustrate the design of socio-technical relations, provides specific advice for researchers, consultants, and policy makers, and reflects on the open issues related to theorizing about sociotechnical HCI. The benefits of HWID include that it meets the requirement of taking both the social and the technical into account, while focusing strongly on the relationship between the social and the technical. In addition, it is truly international and explicitly considers local cultural, organizational, and technological contexts.

This book gathers a selection of the articles accepted for presentation and discussion at the 2nd International Conference on Smart Learning Ecosystems and Regional Developments (SLERD 2017), held 22–23 June What characterizes smart learning ecosystems? What is their role in city and regional development and innovation? How can we promote the engagement of citizens in smart learning ecosystems? This book constitutes the proceedings of the 15th IFIP Working Conference on the Practice of Enterprise Modeling, PoEM 2022, which took place in London, UK, during November 23-25, 2022. PoEM offers a forum for sharing experiences and knowledge between the academic community and practitioners from industry and the public sector. This year the theme of the conference is Enterprise Modeling and Model-based Development and Engineering. The 15 full papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from a total of 45 submissions.
