Their work stems from years in the classroom teaching an integrative arts course at a public school in the United States. Each unit or big idea of study includes an explanation of the philosophy behind the unit, an overview of project ideas, and sample student workbook pages. This peer-reviewed academic yearbook stems from the inaugural meeting of the newly formed UNESCO UNITWIN network on Arts Education Research for Cultural Diversity and Sustainable Development, held at the National Institute of Education, Singapore in April 2017. Using Anna Craft’s last book Creativity and Education Futures as a starting point, the book sets out an up-to-date argument for why education policy should be supporting a birth-to-workplace approach to developing creative skills and capacities that extends across the education lifespan.
