Social sciences are not a field of science that can be defined or restricted to one or two disciplines. They have subbranches such as anthropology, psychology, sociology, literature, education and philosophy, each of which has different purposes, functions and objectives. Definitions, boundaries, and assumptions about social sciences disciplines stand on scientific approaches. No criterion makes one field of social science superior to another. This book, titled Current Debates in Social Studies, has been prepared with an understanding that regards every social science as essential and valuable. The book contains seventeen studies, each of which is prepared by expert researchers, each belonging to different fields of social sciences. These studies on current issues and problems will also be the source of future studies in related fields.

The book, entitled “Current Debates in Social Sciences 2021”, aims to make contributions both to academic world, namely to the literature of economics, philosophy, linguistics and history and to real world through the formation of national economic policies in various aspects. The book is designed to examine economics, philosophy, linguistics and history from different perspectives. For this aim, 29 scholars, 3 editors and the precious employees of IJOPEC Publications came together and published this book. In all chapters, current issues are tried to be examined through stateof- the-art econometric approaches, economic theory and rigorous analysis. Like any other books, the process was toilsome and demanding but the aim is divine: to contribute to the literature. Consequently, any academician, or practitioner who is interested in economics, philisophy, linguistics and history would benefit from the book.

The articles in this book focus on some areas where classical sociology usually leaves out. In this respect, it is placed in a channel determined by critical sociological approach. This channel is an area where thousands of different forms of sociality and acquisitions are collected (relations, tensions, reflections, conflicts, compromises, change, transformation, etc.). The sociology of everyday life is also discusses, understands and explains the area of socialites that remain in this area. It must be noted that the sociology of everyday life not only reveals the place of individuals within the community, but also the place of sociality in "society". The sociological articles of the book in your hand are an example of this approach and initiative. In this book you will find two philosophical articles dealing with sociological articles from a more theoretical ground. In the modern world we will see that the current philosophy is not as archaic as it might seem, but in fact it has important potentials to understand this reified world.

Historical and current debates in social sciences mirror the reality of human existence. However, the reality and facts of human existence are also different from each other. At the same time, these phenomena in social sciences are multidimensional. In this sense, some of the human cases were included in this study. Besides, historical and current analyses in this study have been examined in other social science studies. The multidimensional perspective of the field of social science encourages re-examining the topics covered and revealing different trends. In this context, this study aimed to clarify light on the dark points in the field of social science by reconsidering the discussed or not discussed issues.

This book is a product of the need of understanding the new debates from the perspective of business studies. First part includes the topics that define some of the contemporary issues in accounting, as well as demonstrate how accounting practices change to adapt necessities of time. Part II deals with contemporary marketing topics indicating the importance of consumer in today’s business and the necessity of understanding consumers. Finally, the last part of the book, includes writing related to new methods and approaches in operation management and production that gain importance parallel to development in industry.

The book entitled “Current Debates In Tourism & Development Studies” includes 10 chapters written by researchers in the field of tourism and development. It is divided into four themes, each theme exploring current tourism and development issues that are of critical importance. The key themes of the book concern transforming tourism-resident perception (theme 1), alternative tourism (theme 2), event tourism and destination image (theme 3), and development studies (theme 4). The book has following specific objectives: (a) to identify and analyze the current debates of tourism; (b) to examine current key tourism trends, issues and challenges; (c) to provide compherensive review of tourism and development over the years; (d) to implement rural development, behavioral economics and demographic divident and economic growth issues. It is our strong believe that these chapters will contribute to the understanding of current debates in tourism and development. Furthermore, each chapter in the book will make a significant platform for both tourism industry and academia.

As the outcome of the seventh international congress, the papers in this volume related to basically focus on media studies. In this book, which is an integrated of writings about digital technologies and new media, media contents and cinema in the axis of different disciplines is intended to provide a contribution to the literature on media studies, both theoretically and practically. Media studies consist of analyzed in an interdisciplinary approach covering a wide range of fields such as politics, society, economics, philosophy, psychology and economics. We believe that these studies would contribute to the development of debates in social sciences and encourage interdisciplinary approaches.
