The goal of this book, Dental Implant Treatment Planning for New Dentists Starting Implant Therapy, is to provide information for general dentists and specialists about treatment planning and placement of dental implants at their dental practice. It also serves as a guide to provide some practical answers to some questions that they might have during the initial process of placing dental implants. It is also our goal to draw from the latest dental implant studies in order to provide dentists with as much information possible prior to implementing dental implant therapy. The beginning of the book starts as a preview of dental implant planning, while the remainder of book is divided into two sections—one dealing with surgical dental implant placement and the other section dealing with dental implant restoration.

The goal of this book is to identify esthetic factors such as smile line, biotype and smile width as well as anatomic and functional factors and that can contribute to esthetics, function and overall success of dental implants in the anterior zone and evaluate ways of achieving successful outcomes. An additional objective of the book is also to look at potential complications that could occur in the anterior maxilla and ways of averting them by looking at results from a number of current studies on anterior dental implants. Since dental implants are comprised of two components, the root component that is placed surgically, and the restorative component that represents the crown of a tooth. In order to present information on both aspects of implant therapy, information on both aspects of therapy are provided in order to familiarize patients with information on not only dental implant surgery, but also on implant restorations. Line drawings and case studies including before and after pictures of both surgical and restorative procedures are included in order to provide information for patients about the dental implant procedure. The goal of this book is to provide vital information about dental implants in such a way that will aid patients in deciding whether or not to have dental implants.
