This is a diary of a Giants fan's memories of watching over some 400 games. The book begins with the formation of the team. It serves not only as a recollection of memories to all fans of the New York Giants, but also acts, by its accuracy and thoroughness, as a historical document. It precisely describes those memorable games in franchise history that followers of the Big Blue will vividly recall. Author and Norwalk, Connecticut resident Richard L Chilton takes you on a game-by-game analysis beginning September 17, 1920, with the formation of what would two years later be known as the National Football League. This diary could only have been written by Richard, whose family has had season tickets for over 70 years. In this detailed tome, you will get a firsthand account of all games played by the New York Giants. This firsthand account gives great insight to landmark decisions of the past, which can oly be appreciated by true football fans.

There are different philosophies women and men learn on their winding paths to dealing with relationships. Cheyenne learned to get what you want you must use what you've got. She never heard the word no unless it came from her own lips. Lexi never let her wants and needs out of the mental box in which she kept them. Calling herself a rug for men to walk on was putting it lightly. Devon was more common sense based than street sense. Women usually came into his life because of what he had and his looks, but he still failed to develop long lasting relationships because of his lack of emotional experience. Adrian felt that his player's card was as much a part of him as his skin. Commitment was one word that could not be found in his vocabulary, followed quickly behind by fidelity. Each one felt they were safe and hidden in their emotional homes. Then, fate or opportunity knocks. Who knows which? Nonetheless, whether opening the door or not means your days are numbered and you'll be forced to deal with whatever is outside. Each of these people felt they had sufficiently protected their secret selves. But, fate has plans for us all and will force us to deal with our real self whether we want to or not. Some cower and try to hide their secret deeper. Some emerge like a butterfly and go on transformed. Some will find themselves consumed by the raging fires of their own ignorance. May it be emotional wreckage, caged introvert or sexually driven, most of us, like these four people, will find ourselves tangled in our own webs.

This family cookbook morphed into much more for me during the writing process. It began by contacting friends and family to collect recipes for what I thought would be a simple process. During those conversations and with my own memories, a flood of personal history evolved in my mind. What began as a repository of food recipes became much more to me, and I decided to collect the process in the form of this book, The Diary of a Mad Chef, to also include photos of those people and selected short stories. Food has always been the center of our familys common narrative thread, and I attempted to place the face and the stories of my friends and family with the recipes as I remember them. Along with the feedback and photos from my friends and family, it became a two-year-long effort to compile, edit, and publish this book. The journey has been a magnificent experience for me, and I am grateful to have had the time and opportunity to write this book.

On January 1, 1943, my dad, James K. (Kenneth) Allardice, began keeping a diary in what were called "national diary." These were fairly large diaries (91⁄2" × 71⁄2"), and he faithfully kept a daily accounting of family activities as well as noting important local, national, and international events. In many respects, these diaries resemble newspaper pages. This was due to his early endeavors as a newspaper founder, columnist, editor, and publisher. What you will read in the following pages are just excerpts from the diaries. It was quite a task to choose what to include as the diaries from 1943 to 1963 contain almost 7,300 pages as well as hundreds of clippings and photos. I hope that what follows will give an interesting account of my family growing up together, dealing with the everyday joys and challenges, and what life was like at 611 Main Street, Toms River, New Jersey.
