The story is a shorter version of the award-winning book, Eddie Would Go, and includes photographs not previously published. The biography details the how Eddie Aikau came to identify with being Hawaiian and the history of his people through becoming a waterman. His journey has been an inspiration to thousands of Hawaiians and others living in Hawaiʻi and abroad. His life was cut short as he attempted to save the crew of the popular Hokuleʻa (a Hawaiian double-hulled canoe) after it was damaged in rough seas as that was sailing from Hawaiʻi to the Marquesas using traditional navigation techniques. Eddie was lost at sea, but his life and story serve as an inspiration to all who are on a journey of self-discovery.
