This book provides novel and in-depth perspectives on evaluating environment and sustainability issues in developing countries. Evaluating Environment in International Development focuses on the approaches and experiences of leading international organizations, not-for-profits, and multilateral and bilateral aid agencies to illustrate how systematic evaluation is an essential tool for providing evidence for decision-makers. Moving beyond projects and programmes, it explores normative work on the environment as well as environmental consequences of economic and social development efforts. This new edition reflects on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Sustainable Development Goals and considers how they have influenced efforts in a wide range of countries and what the implications are for evaluation. It also explores ways in which Big Data and geospatial approaches might be utilized. Significantly updated throughout to reflect recent developments in climate change research, and on the implications of the 2020 pandemic, this volume will be of great interest to students and scholars of environment studies, development studies, international relations, sustainable development and evaluation, as well as practitioners in international organizations and development and environmental NGOs. This book concentrates on the subject of health monitoring technology of Liquid Rocket Engine (LRE), including its failure analysis, fault diagnosis and fault prediction. Since no similar issue has been published, the failure pattern and mechanism analysis of the LRE from the system stage are of particular interest to the readers. Furthermore, application cases used to validate the efficacy of the fault diagnosis and prediction methods of the LRE are different from the others. The readers can learn the system stage modeling, analyzing and testing methods of the LRE system as well as corresponding fault diagnosis and prediction methods. This book will benefit researchers and students who are pursuing aerospace technology, fault detection, diagnostics and corresponding applications.

This book includes the introduction of emerging manufacturing technologies and planning cases with established technologies. The planning of eco-efficient process chains is crucial for manufacturing companies. However, in the state-of-the-art planning, various barriers exist towards the integration of the environmental dimension. Against this background, a concept for the integration of classic lean and environmental criteria into the three planning phases of process chains is presented. During concept planning, the Technology Assessment Tool supports planners in the identification of eco-efficient technologies. During rough planning, the Value Stream Design Tool enables the derivation of a production line based on workpiece characteristics. For detailed planning, tools for eco-efficient machine and process chain configuration are provided. Three case studies from large-scale automotive component manufacturing with established and emerging technologies demonstrate the tool applicability.
