Ensembles For Viola

Viola Ensembles present duets in both viola-violin and viola-viola formats to anticipate a range of performance needs and abilities. Volumes 1 and 2 are comprised of pieces from the first and second volumes of the Suzuki Viola and Violin Schools and scored with both melody and harmony parts. Volume 3 contains some pieces from Suzuki Viola Volume 3 plus other pieces. Volume 2 contains: * Chorus from Judas Maccabaeus (G.F. Formerly titled Ensembles for Viola Volume 3, Violas in Concert is a collection of viola ensembles arranged and composed by Elizabeth Stuen-Walker. The classical collection includes pieces by Bach, Beethoven, Corelli, Dvorák, Seitz, Shostokovich, and others. The uniqueness of this collection is that the melodic material is shared among the different parts equally, making them more enjoyable to play and perform.

This flexible new collection of string ensembles will inspire chamber music performance while introducing beginners to some of the greatest classic themes ever written. Correlated with Strictly Strings Book 1, Strictly Classics contains 18 ensembles spanning four centuries of music. Its flexible format provides performance opportunities for solo (with piano accompaniment), duet and trio up through full string ensemble. Strictly Classics, Book 2 introduces 14 additional ensemble pieces which correlate with Strictly Strings , Book 2.

Each of the ensembles in this collection is correlated to specific pages in Book 1 of the Strictly Strings method. These arrangements will not only motivate beginning string students in the classroom, but will also encourage home chamber music sessions. Each of the four instruments is divided into two parts -- part A and part B. Each instrument's part A contains the melody.
