Ongoing, strategic Family-School Partnering (FSP) is an essential component of every educational community. FSP is a multi-dimensional process in which schools, families, and communities engage in shared actions to ensure a child’s academic, social, and emotional success. With this text, the authors intend to offer a practical guide that demonstrates how this partnering can be strategically implemented in all levels of schooling. The main focus of the text is how to plan, implement, and evaluate FSP within existing school structures and resources. The authors begin with an overview of the foundational and organizational information necessary for successful FSP, including a review of ecological systems theory. FSP theories and strategies are presented at a universal, targeted, and intensive level, giving the school mental health professional insight into working with students and families who have differing needs. A school-based case example illustrates FSP in action and provides a practical roadmap for implementation. Each chapter contains easily adaptable tools and a list of useful web links to resources which can be used in conjunction with the strategies presented and discussed by the authors. An accompanying CD will also contain all the handouts, forms, and other such resources presented throughout the text.

The book discusses the information structure approach as introduced by the Prague linguistic circle and elaborated, in the first place, by Jan Firbas, one of the key persons in the field of functional sentence perspective (FSP), and further by Aleš Svoboda, Libuše Dušková or Martin Adam. It explores the Norwegian existential construction from the syntactic and FSP points of view but also discusses selected FSP aspects in general. The theory of functional sentence perspective has been attested to multiple languages such as Czech, English, German, Russian, French, Italian or Spanish. This book attempts, among other things, to attest its applicability to Norwegian, and thus demonstrate its universal nature, at least in the field of Indo-European languages.

The need for low weight and high performance structural materials has revolutionized the technology and has led to the emergence of new processes and methodologies. Friction stir processing (FSP), based on the principle of friction stir welding, is an emerging solid state metal working process. This technique causes intense plastic deformation and high strain rates in the processed material, resulting in precise control of the microstructure through material mixing and densification. FSP process has been successfully used for achieving significant grain refinement and enhancement of surface properties. The present work focuses on the study of behavior of Aluminium cast alloy (Al-6063) processed by the friction stir processing technique. Samples of FSP-ed aluminium were examined and their microstructures, microhardness, Rockwell hardnesss and impact strength were studied and compared with base metal Al-6063. Hardness tester was employed to evaluate the interfacial bonding between the particles and matrix by indenting the hardness with the constant load and constant time. Impact test was employed to know the Impact Strength of samples against the Impact of Hammer.
