This book explores the factors that contribute to high corporate growth, presenting a new conceptual model for research into this phenomenon. Building on existing research, the authors present a new conceptual research model that links multidimensional variables, such as entrepreneurial orientation, and human capital, with the perceived availability of different forms of financing for high-growth companies and with the measures that these firms take to overcome financial constraints and thus influence their financial performance. With this model the authors aim to enhance our understanding of the specifics of financing high growth companies and demonstrate how the availability of financial resources is one of the most important determinants of promoting development and enterprise growth. Empirically tested on a random sample of high-growth companies from Slovenia, the book seeks to make a contribution to research and enhance our understanding of the various factors involved in high growth firms.

Remarkably, a small fraction of firms account for most of the job and output creation in high-income and developing countries alike. Does this imply that the path to enabling more economic dynamism lies in selectively targeting high-potential firms? Or would pursuing broad-based reforms that minimize distortions be more effective? Inspired by these questions, this book presents new evidence on the incidence, characteristics, and drivers of high-growth firms based on in-depth studies of firm dynamics in Brazil, Côte d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Mexico, South Africa, Thailand, Tunisia, and Turkey. Its findings reveal that high-growth firms are not only powerful engines of job and output growth but also create positive spillovers for other businesses along the value chain. At the same time, the book debunks several myths about policies to support firm dynamism that focus on outward characteristics, such as firm size, sector, location, or past performance. Its findings show that most firms struggle to sustain rapid rates of expansion and that the relationship between high growth and productivity is often weak. HGFs bezeichnen dabei Unternehmen, die in mindestens drei aufeinanderfolgenden Jahren mindestens 20% Umsatzwachstum aufweisen können. Das Phänomen des schnellen Wachstums ist dabei auch aus Unternehmenssicht von großem Interesse. Beispielsweise haben solche Unternehmen einen vereinfachten Zugang zu Finanzierungsquellen und potentiellen Mitarbeitern. Dennoch wurde die unternehmerische Perspektive auf HGFs weitestgehend vernachlässigt. Die Literatur gibt bisher kaum Antworten darauf, welche Faktoren schnelles Wachstum treiben oder hemmen und mit welchen Praktiken schnell-wachsende Unternehmen diese Faktoren nutzen oder überkommen. Dabei fehlte es bisher insbesondere an Erhebungen, die sich der spezifischen Gruppe kleiner und mittelgroßer Technologieunternehmen in Deutschland widmet. Die Masterarbeit widmet sich daher der Frage, welche Faktoren schnelles Unternehmenswachstum treiben oder bremsen. Die Arbeit wendet eine Kombination aus induktiver und deduktiver Herangehensweise an. Dazu leitet die Arbeit zunächst deduktiv Treiber und Hemmnisse aus einer umfangreichen Literaturanalyse von 120 wissenschaftlichen Artikeln und Büchern ab. Um neuartige Erkenntnisse für die Gruppe deutscher Technologieunternehmen zu erheben, wurden Interviews mit Gründern und CEOs von 21 schnell wachsenden Unternehmen durchgeführt und mittels Software-gestützter Inhaltsanalyse ausgewertet. Die Arbeit trägt in mehrfacher Hinsicht zur bestehenden Forschung bei. Erstens generiert sie eine umfassende Klassifizierung der bestehenden Literatur hinsichtlich der Faktoren und Praktiken schnellen Unternehmenswachstums. Zweitens, generiert die Arbeit generiert aufschlussreiche empirische Daten und entwickelt ein Wachstumsmodell für schnell-wachsende Technologieunternehmen. Weiterhin ordnet sie den identifizierten Wachstumsphasen die entsprechenden Treiber, Hemmnisse und Unternehmenspraktiken zu. These compunctions are lack of access to finance, lack of access to market, lack of growth, poor education, lack of family support and poor business skills. All these determinants hamper the SMEs, which ultimately leads to their failure. Globally, SMEs are engines of expansion because they play a strategic role in poverty alleviation, job creation and wealth provision of regional equilibrium through industrial dispersal and reduction of rural-urban migration. We argue that if much had been done by State to promote SMEs, then the rate of unemployment would be one digit, not two digits in Namibia. The ease of making business in Namibia is appalling rated by WHO as an environment which does not promote and not easy to enhance SMEs growth. The regulatory environment for SMEs is very challenging. There are so many prohibiting procedures for starting a business as a local and foreigner. The overall research design of this rubric entailed a survey research method and drew from the procedures for researching small tourism businesses in Katima Mulilo. We made cross-sectional study and involved a sample of 14 entrepreneurs that was got between March 2017 and August 2018. Status of growth for Katima Mulilo shows that 0-2% have 10% growth, while 20% had 3-4% growth, 60% of the SMEs had average growth 5-9%. The remaining 20% had high growth of 10-25% status of growth in the company. The component score coefficient matrix shows factor component loadings using the principal component analysis. The factor loadings for individual characteristics, social determinants, poor business location and poor financial management, are very low symbolising that they are poor while human capital and planning and ordaining are higher than 0.40. They are symbolising that they are moderately below par. The principal component analysis is a variable reduction analysis and vital for checking redundancy for the figures. Factor analysis in this study assumes that covariation among the observed variable is due to the presence of one or more latent variables which exert directional influenced observed variables. We recommend that the government should have a National Entrepreneurship Policy Framework and Implementation Guideline and put in place an Entrepreneurial Act to promote Entrepreneurs in the Country.
