Fluffy to Fit is a book by Clare Morrow IFBB (International Federation of Bodybuilding) Pro. What makes the information in this book unique is that the author didn't get started on her fitness journey until age 42. She received her pro card in the women's bikini division at age 45. Because the author is a nutritionist, along with a wellness and fitness coach, she understands and talks about the challenges many people face when it comes to maintaining a healthy diet and staying in shape as we age. The material in the book covers a wide range of subjects such as: how to meal prep for success how to choose a gym how to know how much to lift how hormone imbalances can affect fat loss how to calculate calories and macros Some helpful details in the book include, a macro cheat sheet, an example meal prep menu, healthy food swaps, and workout illustrations. This book is for anyone of any age that has the desire to take steps towards making changes to their health and fitness but has no idea where to start. The book also includes many of the author's real-life experiences. From her early years where she was raised on a farm in England, to more recently where she helps people learn about fat loss and strength training on her social media platforms. Fluffy to Fit takes you along on a funny and motivating fitness journey with the intent that you can do this too!

One of Laguna Beach's best-known plastic surgeons may need a new leash on life. Unless he's just taking a very long nap on the bench outside Melinda Langston's Bow Wow Boutique . . . Dr. O'Doggle continued to give us the silent treatment. Fluffy eyed him intently. I studied him too. Tova Randall wasn't my BFF, to say the least, but I didn't wish her boyfriend any bad luck. My neighbor, Darby, relaxed her grip on Fluffy's leash. The big Afghan lunged toward Dr. O and knocked him over. Tova's handsome hunk rolled off the bench and dropped with a thud at our feet. Darby gasped. My stomach knotted. "No, no, no." I shook my head. "Not again." I knelt down and shook his shoulders. "Dr. O'Doggle?" I grabbed his suit lapels and yelled, "Jack?" No response. No, "I'm fine." No, "Stop yelling in my face." No, "Get your hands off me." No, no, no. I checked his throat for a pulse. Nothing. But he was still warm. My fingers brushed against something knotted around his throat, and I'm not talking about his tie. I pulled back his shirt for a better look. I sucked in a breath, my nose filled with a light female perfume I didn't recognize. A thin dog leash was wound tightly around his neck. Identical to the kind I sold at the shop. This was not an accident. "Is he . . .?" Darby asked softly. I looked up at her. "Dead. No more late night walks for him."

This volume explores the linguistic expression of modality in natural language from a cross-linguistic perspective. Modal expressions provide the basic tools that allow us to dissociate what we say from what is actually going on, allowing us to talk about what might happen or might have happened, as well as what is required, desirable, or permitted. Chapters in the book demonstrate that modality involves many more syntactic categories and levels of syntactic structure than traditionally assumed. The volume distinguishes between three types of modality: 'low modality', which concerns modal interpretations associated with the verbal and nominal cartographies in syntax; 'middle modality', or modal interpretation associated with the syntactic cartography internal to the clause; and 'high modality', relating to the left periphery. It combines cross-linguistic discussions of the more widely studied sources of modality with analyses of novel or unexpected sources, and shows how the meanings associated with the three types of modality are realized across a wide range of languages.
