'Genesis, Creation, and Creationism' is an important new study that explores all sides of the creationism debate and gives a sound and spiritually rich way of understanding the creation stories of Genesis. -------------------- Creationism is an ardently proclaimed and widely held point of view, involving both scientific and biblical data. While much has been written about Òscientific creationism, much less is available about its counterpart, Òbiblical creationism. 'Genesis, Creation, and Creationism' provides this much-needed evaluation of creationism by uniquely allowing the Bible to speak for itself. Author Lloyd R. Bailey, who is a biblical scholar and also holds a degree in physics, begins his investigation by inviting all sides of the creationism debate to set aside their prejudices for or against the theory of evolution and read the biblical story of creation in Genesis (1:1-2, 4a). He then examines the creationist phenomenon and compares this data with the agenda of the Òyoung earth creationist. All the while, Bailey enhances the Bible's ability to speak for itself by withholding judgment on many of the assumptions of historical-critical biblical scholarship (for example, the date and authorship of Genesis). The result is a scientifically straightforward study of Genesis that explicitly answers fundamentalist questions on creationism. 'Genesis, Creation, and Creationism' is a thought-provoking study on the relationship of science and religion that speaks to all Christian denominations. It provides excellent resource material for high school science classes, religion classes, and for seminarians engaged in biblical studies.

Far from being a trivial issue, or one that can be interpreted many different ways, God's record of creation displays a marvelous and clear consistency throughout. From the symphony of the creation week in Genesis, to the promise of a new heaven and a new earth in Revelation, the Bible speaks of a recent, six-day creation of the universe.A respected scholar, the late Dr. Henry M. Morris spent over six decades studying God's Word, and his commentaries enriched the faith of many. In this remarkable book, Dr. Morris examines both the famous creation account in Genesis, as well as lesser-known references, such as Ezra and Colossians.

EVOLUTIONISM VS. CREATIONISM...WHAT DOES THE EVIDENCE REVEAL? Explore scientific law as it connects to evolution & creation Extract the truth of these two conflicting worldviews Examine the evidence for the origin of earth and man Evolutionism is often taught blindly in schools without regard to what the evidence truly says. A powerful tool for teachers and other individuals, Scientific Creationism provides one of the most comprehensive analyses of the evidence for evolution and creation. What can we learn from fossils? How does catastrophism play a part in origins? Why are many “evolutionary” discoveries so surprising? A careful study of these questions shows that evolution is impossible, and creation is quite predictable! Includes a special section that places the scientific evidence in its proper biblical and theological context.

Mission statement - coresci.org Series Editor: Todd Charles Wood Core Academy of Science encourages young Christian scholars to explore the hardest problems in creation. Engineers sometimes classify problems as easy, hard, and impossible. Easy problems are trivial because they can be solved merely by applying known principles. Impossible problems cannot be solved no matter how hard we try. Hard problems are the problems in between that require the most work but yield the greatest rewards. Sometimes hard problems are accumulations of many easy problems, and sometimes they turn out to be impossible. When a hard problem is solved, though, it is widely celebrated. For Christians and especially young-age creationists, understanding creation has many "hard problems." Evidences of the great age of the universe and earth can be difficult to explain. Likewise with evidences of evolution. Creationists reject the conventional explanations that involve millions of years and humans evolving from animals, but alternative explanations that satisfy our scientific curiosity and our desire to remain true to the revealed Word of God are much rarer and not widely accepted. It is much easier to focus on the detection of error rather than the more difficult discovery of truth. This focus on error rather than truth pervades evangelical Christianity, because it's relatively easy. We all like the easy and impossible. We teach our children to recite verses from the Bible and answers to our catechisms, but when they ask difficult questions, we say, "Only God knows." We might even scold them for being impertinent or irreverent. Core Academy equips the next generation to tackle these great mysteries by first and most importantly helping young scholars to develop a bold, confident faith. All too often, scholars who face challenging puzzles become disillusioned and stray from the faith. Our first goal, then, must be enriching and nurturing strong faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Creator.

Explore the truth of science and faith... and what it means to you! Uncover evidences of Creation in living systems Unravel the questions of Creation and the laws of science Understand the vanishing case for evolution science Many Christians are not aware that many legitimate scientists embrace the Genesis explanation of origins. In What is Creation Science?, two of the most respected members of that group have given us the benefit of their knowledge. The book itself, though technical in places, is remarkably clear, and its focus is on a fair dialogue of the issues. So much so that many thousands of readers have taken to heart Dr. Parker's challenge, to "Think About It!" The creation/evolution question is not an issue that concerns only biologists on the one hand and religious people on the other. In one way or another, the issue permeates every field of academic study and every aspect of national life. It deals with two opposing basic worldviews - two philosophies of origins and destinies, of life and meaning. Consequently, it is (or should be) of special concern to everyone.
