A Little Princess is a children's novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett, first published as a book in 1905. It is an expanded version of the short story "Sara Crewe: or, What Happened at Miss Minchin's", which was serialized in St. Nicholas Magazine from December 1887, and published in book form in 1888. According to Burnett, after she composed the 1902 play A Little Un-fairy Princess based on that story, her publisher asked that she expand the story as a novel with "the things and people that had been left out before".[4] The novel was published by Charles Scribner's Sons (also publisher of St. Nicholas) with illustrations by Ethel Franklin Betts and the full title A Little Princess: Being the Whole Story of Sara Crewe Now Being Told for the First Time

The servants of the Hotel Salisbury, which is so called because it is situated on Broadway and conducted on the American plan by a man named Riggs, had agreed upon a date for their annual ball and volunteer concert, and had announced that it would eclipse every other annual ball in the history of the hotel. As the Hotel Salisbury had been only two years in existence, this was not an idle boast, and it had the effect of inducing many people to buy the tickets, which sold at a dollar apiece, and were good for "one gent and a lady," and entitled the bearer to a hat-check without extra charge.

A Tale of Two Cities is Charles Dickens' extraordinary chronicled novel, set against the vicious commotion of the French Revolution. The most acclaimed and maybe the most well known of his works, it packs an occasion of tremendous intricacy to the size of a family ancestry, with a cast of characters that incorporates a homicidal ogress and a screw-up as acceptably defective as any in current fiction. In spite of the fact that the most un-ordinary of the creator's novels, A Tale of Two Cities still highlights large numbers of his suffering subjects detainment, foul play, social rebellion, restoration, and the renunciation that cultivates recharging.
