Starring Martin Sheen as a bereaved father, this soulful and uplifting film observes a group of pilgrims walking the Way of St James to Santiago de Compostela. As it follows their journey of inner transformation, the course examines biblical accounts and images of salvation – past, present and future – and addresses the questions: What are we saved from? What are we saved for? Who can be saved? What do we have to do to be saved? How are we saved?

The author contends his family’s residence in West Virginia for over 218 years gives him full and absolute standing to give his West Virginia viewpoint, including the standard West Virginia directions: “Go down to the hard road until you come to the four lane and follow it to the Robert C. Byrd Freeway”.... which one, you ask, since everything in West Virginia now bears this description. In the spirit of the adventures taken, the author vows to donate all proceeds over the production costs to a community charity so that everyone who buys or reads the book can feel good about themselves -- even if they lack the humor gene, and even if they pitch the book like a disposable camera.

As I traveled down this road called life, my choices made it a hard road to travel. But my Heavenly Father and Lord Jesus Christ turned it into a road to heaven. It is my hope that while reading this book, eyes will be opened to the ways of our Heavenly Father and our Lord Jesus Christ. That they can take both the good and bad things in a person's life to fulfill God's will in their life. Jesus takes a person that the world sees as unusable and uses them to fulfill His will, like He did with Saul, who became the Apostle Paul. If they only open their eyes, Jesus Christ will lead them down the road to heaven.
