Incentives matter in economics. In this book, readers learn about tax incentives and rebates that motivate buyers to purchase or invest in certain items. Large-scale and personal real-life examples of incentives are also presented, including facts related to pandemic-era impacts. Colorful and clear graphics, such as maps, charts, and infographics, give readers an alternative to text-heavy sources. Action-based activities leave students with ideas for how incentives work in economics. This book also includes a glossary, index, suggested reading and websites, and a bibliography.

People today are living longer than ever before, but what is a boon for individuals can be challenging for societies. If nothing is done to change existing work and retirement patterns, the number of older inactive people who will need to be supported by each worker could rise by around 40% between 2018 and 2050 on average in the OECD area. This would put a brake on rising living standards as well as enormous pressure on younger generations who will be financing social protection systems. Improving employment prospects of older workers will be crucial. At the same time, taking a life-course approach will be necessary to avoid accumulation of individual disadvantages over work careers that discourage or prevent work at an older age.

This volume seeks to analyse the emerging wave of data journalism in the Global South. It does so by examining trends, developments and opportunities for data journalism in the aforementioned contexts. Whilst studies in this specific form of journalism are increasing in numbers and significance, there remains a dearth of literature on data journalism in less developed regions of the world. By demonstrating an interest in data journalism across countries including Chile, Argentina, the Philippines, South Africa and Iran, among others, this volume contributes to multifaceted transnational debates on journalism, and is a crucial reference text for anyone interested in data journalism in the ‘developing’ world. Drawing on a range of voices from different fields and nations, sharing empirical and theoretical experiences, the volume aims to initiate a global dialogue among journalism practitioners, researchers and students.

This book is the first to provide evidence-based experience to showcase how stakeholder management can be applied within social marketing programs, as well providing contemporary discussions of social marketing research. The book aims to bring practitioners and academics together to address the calls made by scholars to address inherent challenges involved in identifying, involving and prioritising different stakeholders in social marketing interventions. Through sharing real-world experience, the text aims to extend and synthesise current knowledge in the field and contribute to establishing stronger and long-lasting alliances with stakeholders involved in social marketing interventions with an aim of ensuring sustainable behavioural change. This book features a diverse series of case studies from different countries (including but not limited to Australia, Finland, India, Slovenia, the United Kingdom) conducted in various behaviour change contexts (including alcohol consumption, nutrition intake, and breast feeding). Leading international social marketing and social science scholars provide case studies on stakeholder involvement in an intervention or multiple interventions and elucidate relevant lessons to inform theoretical as well as practical implications for multi-stakeholder social marketing interventions. This volume will be of interest to researchers, advanced students, practitioners and policy makers in social marketing and health policy.

This report builds on the OECD Well-being Framework and applies a new perspective that analyses synergies and trade-offs between climate change mitigation and broader goals such as health, education, jobs, as well as wider environmental quality and the resources needed to sustain our livelihoods through time. This report takes an explicitly political economy approach to the low-emissions transitions needed across five economic sectors (electricity, heavy industry, residential, surface transport, and agriculture) that are responsible for more than 60% of global greenhouse gas emissions.
