It contains monographs on 5,100 active substances and their derivatives, along with International Non-Proprietary Names (INN), chemical names, 15,500 official synonyms, 85,500 proprietary names from more than 16,500 manufacturers, the German, French, Spanish and Latin names for active substances as well as the names of the trade preparations for almost all the countries of the world. It also includes information on veterinary medicinal drugs. The compilation of single-compound preparations for human use is complete for 102 countries, and another 39 countries are partly covered. The alphabetical index of all the trade names, the medicinal substances and the synonyms as well as the registers of ATC and ATCvet active substances aid searching.
