Reacting to life situations cannot be avoided. However, the way we react can either bring hope or despair. The choice remains with us. Three main options exist: (1) We can attempt to be noncommittal and try to avoid making a decision, though that thought process itself is reacting; (2) we can react unwisely, and the problem does not get better, only worse; or (3) we can react positively based on discerning God's will. This third reaction is best, and this book's aim, using Bible personalities as examples and some personal illustrations from the author's experiences, is to encourage the reader to react to life's problems by discerning God's will as best they can. Make your reaction to life situations a judgment based on prayer and principles discovered in the Bible, and thus find hope. Be encouraged!

Life's journey carries one in many directions and through different paths and roads. One does not know what situations one may encounter. But what one does know is God can be trusted to help navigate one through. Situations will come, and that is a fact because Jesus said so. And whatever Jesus said will be so because he is not a liar. It is a comfort to know that when situations come, Jesus will be there to see us through. Situations are not always easy to face, especially when there is a time of waiting. As humans, we often want instant gratification. But that is not how God works. He works through his time and not ours. Trusting him with our situations teaches us how to wait. Waiting requires other things with it, such as faith, hope, and trust. These are the antidote to help us not to become anxious, fearful, discouraged, and worried. These are the things that will consume and prevent us from trusting him when situations come. There are stories in the Bible from the Old and New Testaments that illustrate various situations God's people face. Through these stories, we learn about the struggles and hardships many experienced during their situations. We also gain insight into how his people, such as Joseph, Moses, David, Ruth, Ester, Job, Paul, Silas, and others trusted in God in their situations. They believed that God was able to meet the need of the situation, so they were able to trust in him. And guess what, they were not disappointed. And neither will you if you trust him in all of your life's situations.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 7th International Work-Conference on Ambient Assisted Living, IWAAL 2015, held in Puerto Varas, Chile, in December 2015. The 20 full papers presented with 7 short papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 31 submissions. The focus of the papers is on following topics: ambient assisted living for tele-care and tele-rehabilitation; ambient assisted living environments; behaviour analysis and activity recognition; sensing for health and wellbeing; human interaction and perspectives in ambient assisted living solutions.

People's experience in their everyday lives has attracted much research interest in the past two decades. This book focuses on the interplay of temperament and other personality traits with characteristics of situations and events in hourly and dailey mood fluctuations. All contributors used the Time Sampling Diary (TSD) in collecting data from a variety of populations over several weeks, at least four times a day at randomly selected points of time. Part 1 of the book introduces the TSD technique with detailed instructions for data collection, coding, and analysis. Part 2 covers reports on a study of Polish bank employees. The chapters of Part 3 reflect the experience of dangerous work situations in a steel factory, the emotional adjustment of adolescents to short and long-term unemployment, and the influences of husbands' daily or weekly commuting on their wives coping with housework and childcare. The chapters of Part 4 take a more philosophical approach to the material. The first contribution shows that personality traits influence well-being primarily in situations characterized by freedom of choice; the second introduces a rather new methodological approach clarifying the affinities of situations and subjective experience.
