As Christians find themselves trapped in the rhetoric of platform, influence, retweets, and fame, they need a ladder out of the fray. Many of us live in a prison of self-absorption. Shackled with pride and despair, we compare ourselves to others constantly in our frantic, unending pursuit of perfection. Seated with Christ gets to the root of this behavior and charts a path to freedom. Scripture says that God’s beloved are seated with Christ in the heavens (Eph. 2:6), treasured by Him and given a place at His table. Heather Holleman unveils what this means for us. It means we walk out on the fight for acceptance. We quit measuring ourselves to others. We leap free from cycles of shame. Securely-seated people can ask themselves hard questions about their lives; they can deal with sin, grieve their losses, and move forward in hope. From a position of security and self-forgetfulness they can joyfully do the good works prepared for them uniquely. They can even celebrate the successes of others. Seated with Christ is a deeply personal, liberating look at a glorious truth: that we have a place at God's eternal table.

Churches have made many converts but far too few real disciples. Many Christians struggle to take hold of basic biblical truth and live it out. We often take a painfully long time to mature. This is not because we lack resources or teaching, but because we struggle to connect with truth This is where the Freedom in Christ course comes in. It is specifically designed to help Christians take hold of who they are in Christ, resolve personal and spiritual conflicts through genuine repentance, and move on to maturity.

In a culture that is running from Christ, Live Free in Christ is a must read! With over 25 years in Biblical studies, I have yet to read such an in depth study on what it means to live in Christ. Michael Winfrey, Founder of Teen Talk This is a fresh and timely examination of living free in Christ. Grounded in a careful handling of the Apostle Pauls letters, this book offers sensitive encouragement to its readers. The tone is pastoral, the content is soundly biblical, and the result is devotional. I warmly recommend this offering for the sake of the church. Constantine R. In [this] freedom Christ has made us free [and completely liberated us]; stand fast then, and do not be hampered and held ensnared and submit again to a yoke of slavery [which you have once put off]. Is who you are today based on what you do, or is it defined by who you are? A distorted identity and life of bondage are not a coincidence. A poor understanding of our identity is the primary cause of bondage amongst Christians today. For your identity directly determines your every decision and how you choose to live your life. A person who is liberated has the right or power to do as one pleases, or freedom without restraint or bondage. Galatians 5:1 declares this reality – It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. However, too many sincere believers today are living in some type of bondage when they already have the power to be set free. Therefore understanding who we are and unlocking the power within us as children of God is the key to liberated life. A desire to be all that God created us to be should be our highest pursuit in life. When we understand who we are and our purpose in Christ, we will be able to take hold of all the amazing plans He has in store for us. In this book you will understand the reality of your true identity as a Christian, the purpose of being broken and restored, as well as the importance our thoughts captive. You will discover practical steps to walking in freedom and the significance of becoming all you were created to be. Founded in biblical principles and inspiring stories, this book will help you realize your true identity that can empower you to having long lasting freedom in every area of your life. What other people daily struggle with does not have to be your story too. That there is absolutely nothing which is too powerful or difficult for God to set you free today. No matter your past mistakes or current circumstances, join me as we realize the divine freedom that is ours in Christ.

I thought and believed, for most of my Christian walk, I was living "free in Christ." Until one day, for the umpteenth time, God asked me to read about the adulterous woman thrown at his feet. Have you ever wondered how in the world Jesus could tell the adulterous woman to "go and sin no more"? I have, for years, because my life did not line up with what he was telling her to do. I still "sinned," which led me to beat myself up and not love parts of myself. What I had learned and been taught in the church was not working anymore...I was tired. I was exhausted from trying so hard to perform for God, others, and myself. God was getting ready to change my "core beliefs" from what I had learned for years in the church as "truth" to "his truth." I never thought the answer to my question would come at such a price nor take four years of unwinding my core beliefs and writing a book to get there. The answer did come though and is inside this book. I am so excited to share part of the road I traveled, which led me to the answer. Some of this book will be "AHA!" moments for you or you might find yourself saying, "I always believed this within myself, but couldn't put it into words." God desires and invites us to clearly see him as he sees us and to know him as he knows us (1 Corinthians 13:12). He also wants us to learn who we really are in him. I am hoping through this book, like me, you also will find your freedom in Christ because it is time to really live free.

The book consists primarily of interviews between Strobel (a former legal editor at the Chicago Tribune) and biblical scholars such as Bruce Metzger. Each interview is based on a simple question, concerning historical evidence (for example, "Can the Biographies of Jesus Be Trusted?"), scientific evidence, ("Does Archaeology Confirm or Contradict Jesus' Biographies?"), and "psychiatric evidence" ("Was Jesus Crazy When He Claimed to Be the Son of God?"). Together, these interviews compose a case brief defending Jesus' divinity, and urging readers to reach a verdict of their own.
