Der in englischer Sprache verfasste Forschungsbericht zu Ovids Metamorphosen wurde von einem Forscher:innenteam der Universität Huelva unter Leitung von Antonio Ramírez de Verger und Luis Rivero García erstellt und arbeitet die schier unüberschaubare Literatur zu diesem gegenwärtig wohl meistgelesenen und meisterforschten Werk der römischen Dichtung kritisch auf. Im Zentrum des ersten von zwei Teilen stehen Arbeiten zur Überlieferungsgeschichte und Textkritik der Metamorphosen, außerdem Arbeiten zu solchen Aspekten des Werkes, die in den in letzten Jahrzehnten besonders intensiv erforscht wurden: u. a. Gattungsfragen, Religion, Kult und Magie, Liebe, Sexualität und Gender.

David Friedrich Strauss's Das Leben Jesu kritisch bearbeitet (1835) brought about a new dawn in Biblical criticism by applying the 'myth theory' to the life of Jesus. Strauss treated the Gospel narrative like any other historical work, and denied all supernatural elements in the Gospels. Das Leben Jesu created an overnight sensation and Strauss became embroiled in fierce controversy. This earliest English version of 1846 was translated by the novelist George Eliot, and was her first published book.

During the last few years economics and business education have emerged as one of the largest fields of study in higher education. At the same time, the pressing concern for improving the quality of higher education has led to a definite need for more knowledge about effective instruction and innovation in economics and business education. The book brings together many examples of reform in economics and business education. Special attention is paid to the problem-based learning approach, which over the past ten years, has developed as a very important innovation in higher education. It is perhaps surprising that a process which was one of the first to be studied on an atomic scale, and a process which first received attention over seven decades ago, continues to be the object of diverse and intense research efforts. Such is the case with the (seemingly) conceptually simple and familiar mechanism of electron impact ionization of atoms, molecules, and ions. Not only has the multi-body nature of the collision given ground to theoretical effort only grudgingly, but also the variety and subtlety of processes contributing to ionization have helped insure that progress has come only with commensurate work: no pain - no gain. Modern experimental methods have made it possible to effectively measure and explore threshold laws, differential cross sections, partial cross sections, inner-shell ionization, and the ionization of unstable species such as radicals and ions. In most instances the availability of experimental data has provided impetus and guidance for further theoretical progress.
