When their mother goes missing from her nursing home, three estranged siblings must fulfill the requests left in her will before they can find closure—or receive their inheritance. Mattie Benson feels trapped in Grand Oak Acres Nursing Home. Abandoned by her adult children and missing her deceased husband, she takes matters into her own hands and leaves the facility. A Mattie’s Call is issued, and soon, the siblings learn things about their mother they never knew—namely, her ability to bring them together through the conditions of her will. Gabrielle, the eldest daughter, must stop living life on her looks, get a job, and move out of the family home. This feat proves difficult for a forty-nine-year-old woman accustomed to the generosity of wealthy men. Joshua, the runaway groom, must reconnect with the son he never knew existed. He isn’t against the idea, but facing the only love of his life proves more difficult than he anticipated. Alice, Mattie’s baby girl, has been trapped in a loveless marriage for years. The stipulation that she complete her college degree scares her more than climbing a mountain, but an unforgivable moment with her husband proves she must move forward with her life. Stumbling and ultimately rising to the challenge, the siblings get to know one other as their parents’ legacy mends old wounds and paves the way for new beginnings.

Winston Churchill is drawn into the fray. An epic quest to recover an ancient Christian artifact, the Spear of Destiny, is underway! The spear was used by Roman centurion Longinus to pierce the side of Christ to end His suffering on the cross. But the spear—long on display at Vienna's Hofburg Museum—is suddenly missing. Hitler wants it every bit as much as the Kaiser and Winston Churchill. Mattie travels to the Austrian Alps on a danger-filled search for the spear. When Cockran joins her, both their lives and their romance are in jeopardy because of the handsome and mysterious leader of her expedition who saves her life and seeks to seduce her. I think of myself, sitting around a pub table or around a campfire, as a story teller informing people of how to be successful enjoying life and helping others any way possible if I can.. That is the way I would like to be remembered. Of pure Irish descent, Marton Murphy can trace his family in North America back to 1836 and follow their progression from the Atlantic to the Pacific, North to Alaska and South to the Mexican border. As a boy growing up in Freetown, PEI, one of the prettiest and friendliest piece of ground in the world, I absorbed all I could about the family's earliest heritage including my father's expertise in business and neighborliness and my mother's charitable good works as a nurse, class of 1921, who taught me how to live my life. I left home at the age of 18 and enjoyed a wide variety of jobs including farm chore boy, potato picker, cow hand, stooker, tobacco primer and fruit picker in the East. When arriving in the West I became a doodlebugger, oilfield roughneck, cat-skinner, construction worker, taxi driver while working my way up the corporate ladder before starting my own business in oil, land, cattle, engineering, contracting, environmental, manufacturing, distribution, transportation and travel while enjoying a life involved in church, community, charity, and back room politics while travelling the world for business and pleasure.
