The book studies artificial intelligence as a new reality and a perspective direction for the modern economy’s development, as well as its future technological basis. The book forms a meta-scientific approach to studying AI, which allows uniting the efforts of scholars from different spheres of science for formation of a comprehensive idea of AI. The book reflects the meta-scientific approach to the balanced use of human and artificial intelligence and the features of successful development of the information economy under the conditions of technological progress based on artificial intelligence. It describes the implementation of the subject approach in psychology and pedagogy based on artificial intelligence and reflects the political and legal aspects of creating, implementing and developing artificial intelligence. The impact of artificial intelligence on the economy and financial services is considered, and modernization of management of production and distribution processes and systems based on AI are studied. The target audience of the book includes scholars from different spheres of science who study AI, companies interested in implementation of AI, and government that regulates the issues of development and use of AI.

"Exploring Artificial Intelligence" is a unique presentation of the spectrum of research in Artificial Intelligence. Each self-contained chapter is based on a survey talk given at the National Conferences on Artificial Intelligence (AAAI 1986 & 1987). The original speakers, all leading researchers in their fields, have updated and revised their talks especially for this publication. Selected and edited to be accessible to students and nonspecialists, "Exploring Artificial Intelligence" preserves the informal character of the talks while presenting authoritative overviews of current research in critical subareas of AI. Individually, each lecture provides a penetrating exploration of a key area. Taken together, they offer a panorama of the field as a whole: its core issues, progress, and future directions. An ideal collection for personal reference or for use in introductory courses in AI and its subfields, "Exploring Artificial Intelligence" is essential reading for anyone interested in the intellectual and technological challenges of Artificial Intelligence.

In recent years a vast literature has been produced on the feasibility of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The topic most frequently discussed is the concept of intelligence, with efforts to demonstrate that it is or is not transferable to the computer. Only rarely has attention been focused on the concept of the artificial per se in order to clarify what kind, depth and scope of performance (including intelligence) it could support. Apart from the classic book by H.A. Simon, The Sciences of the Artificial, published in 1969, no serious attempt has been made to define a conceptual frame for understanding the intimate nature of intelligent machines independently of its claimed or denied human-like features. The general aim of this book is to discuss, from different points of view, what we are losing and what we are gaining from the artificial, particularly from AI, when we abandon the original anthropomorphic pretension. There is necessarily a need for analysis of the history of AI and the limits of its plausibility in reproducing the human mind. In addition, the papers presented here aim at redefining the epistemology and the possible targets of the AI discipline, raising problems, and proposing solutions, which should be understood as typical of the artificial rather than of an information-based conception of man.

This book is a collection of writings by active researchers in the field of Artificial General Intelligence, on topics of central importance in the field. Each chapter focuses on one theoretical problem, proposes a novel solution, and is written in sufficiently non-technical language to be understandable by advanced undergraduates or scientists in allied fields. This book is the very first collection in the field of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) focusing on theoretical, conceptual, and philosophical issues in the creation of thinking machines. All the authors are researchers actively developing AGI projects, thus distinguishing the book from much of the theoretical cognitive science and AI literature, which is generally quite divorced from practical AGI system building issues. And the discussions are presented in a way that makes the problems and proposed solutions understandable to a wide readership of non-specialists, providing a distinction from the journal and conference-proceedings literature. The book will benefit AGI researchers and students by giving them a solid orientation in the conceptual foundations of the field (which is not currently available anywhere); and it would benefit researchers in allied fields by giving them a high-level view of the current state of thinking in the AGI field. Furthermore, by addressing key topics in the field in a coherent way, the collection as a whole may play an important role in guiding future research in both theoretical and practical AGI, and in linking AGI research with work in allied disciplines

This book explores issues of agricultural development and the provision of food security, providing a core framework and recommendations for implementing sustainable development goals in these areas. Focused on the period up to 2030 to match the timeline of the SDGs, the book surveys the current landscape and the prospects for agricultural development, demonstrating how Agriculture 4.0 based on AI and deep learning must follow from digitalization as the next step to ensuring food security. It brings together research based on analytical and statistical data, including the IMD World Digital Competitiveness Report and the Food Security Report from the Economist Intelligence Unit, and reliable mathematical tools including correlation and regression analysis, forecasting with histogramming, probability estimates, and the simplex method, as well as Game Theory methodology and the hierarchical procedure method of Thomas Lorie Saaty to forecast international scenarios for food security in the future economy. Containing theoretical and practical insights, the book will be of interest to those studying agricultural economics, the digital economy, and concepts of Agriculture 4.0 and Industry 4.0.

This book is devoted to the study of artificial intelligence from a new perspective – not just a technology but a social institution with complex social connections and relationships. The book systematically highlights technological trends of the artificial intelligence economy and considers all the components of its cascade effect with an overview of international experience and substantiation of promising ways of adapting to the modern stage of technological transit of economic systems. The cascade effect is understood as a chain of interdependent events that are triggered as artificial intelligence takes root in society and the economy. Among the technological trends (current areas of the practical application of artificial intelligence), highlighted in the book, are “smart” homes, digital regions, the use of artificial intelligence to ensure cybersecurity, as well as the optimization of business processes based on artificial intelligence. The book interprets the economics of artificial intelligence as a result of the transition to a digital technological order. A review of modern experience and regulatory perspectives of the institutionalization of the artificial intelligence economy is carried out. The legal framework for combating cyber threats in the artificial intelligence economy has been determined. The promising frameworks for using artificial intelligence in various branches of industry are presented. The book provides practical examples, case studies and proposed frameworks for using AI in various sectors of the economy, which allows using the book as a practical guide to managing the artificial intelligence economy.
