Mistakes I Have Made On My Journey Of Faith

I am writing about the mistakes I have made so that you may avoid them on your journey of faith. If you have made similar mistakes, I hope this book will help you realize that you are not alone. I pray you will be encouraged that you can overcome those mistakes, and they can be important moments of learning that you benefit from, as painful as they may be at that moment. Mostly, I hope that you will realize that Jesus Christ will forgive you of your mistakes. If you have made mistakes, if you have experienced despair because of them, and if you have grieved over them, I pray you will also find the peace and joy and the awe and wonder of Jesus Christ that you may not have experienced before—peace, joy, awe, and wonder that cannot be found anywhere else. If you have struggled, as I have, to live more faithfully, this book is for you. Our mistakes do not deprive us of God’s love, but often reveal his love for us. Often, they teach us that Jesus Christ is the remedy, the balm, the redemption of all the mistakes we have made. I pray you will discover that he is for you too.

A Journey of Faith is a memoir written during a time Sunseria decided to convert from Christianity to Islam. She talks about what made her decide to convert to Islam and how the transition between the two faiths affected her lifestyle and her relationships with friends, family, and her marriage. During the 6 years as a Muslim, she struggled between the desire to want to be a Muslim and fighting with her husband about her new life. She would later fi nd herself at a cross road, choosing to stay with her husband or leaving her marriage to pursue her new life. She would later decide to leave her marriage to pursue the life as a Muslim. After her divorce she realizes that this was a mistake and her faith began to waiver and she slowly began to pull away from the religion. No longer wearing the hijab, Sunseria still finds difficulty living her new life, but continues to hold on to her faith and her trust in God.

As a young girl growing up in southeast Georgia, she couldn't wait to graduate high school, if not for anything but, to no longer have to go to church. Monica was eager to experience a world that she had only heard of but, was forbidden to take part in because of her mother's Christian values. She became tired of hearing all the fun that the other girls had over the weekend while all she did was attend school and church. Her desire to go to a football game, a club or maybe on a date, grew tremendously and all she dreamed about was getting out of her parents house. She finds herself in the hands of a repeated rapist and murderer and now it's no longer her mother's faith but, her faith that will be put to the test.

This booklet is about one quite ordinary life journey – mine – a dominant feature of which is a journey to faith in God. I was brought up in India as a god-fearing Hindu mainly because of the influence my mother's religious practices had on me. But my life as a Hindu radically changed direction when I was confronted by the God of the Bible. I respectfully discuss my experiences both as a Hindu and as a Christian and present my reasons for the change of spiritual direction in my life. I hope you find this booklet an encouragement in your own journey of life.

This book is a journal made up of 111 articles that were published in our local paper. The woman who wrote the journal was diagnosed with Lung Cancer in December of 2006 and her goal was to help people understand what it was like living and coping with the disease on a daily basis. She wrote about her everyday life, her Chemo and Radiation treatments, her trip to Seattle for Cyber Knife treatment. She wanted people to know that it was possible to lead a somewhat normal life even though the prognosis wasnt good. She tried to give people an insight into thought process that a person with Lung Cancer goes through. The author bared her soul in these articles in order help others with cancer or who had loved ones with the disease. Ann Keefe was my wife, she passed away on April 15th 2009 and I had her Journey of Faith, Hope & Health published in her memory.

Death was sleeping all around us. I could feel her in the high cries of uncomfortable babies and the low moans of old men as they fight the pain and discomfort of dysentery. This would be a trip through hell, and perhaps some unfortunate souls on this boat would make not make it out alive as is often the case on the Congo River. Perhaps, we all knew that some of us wouldnt all arrive at our destination and that we would meet our Lord, our Maker, here on this black river of death and hope. Death and hope. Can it be one and the same? With this river, the answer is yes. People lived and died under the power of this powerful river every single day. It was now my turn to make this journey on its surface. Despite my deepest fears, I feel the warm breeze of Gods grace lingering around me in the air.
