Modernization is a complex phenomenon in the world, and is termed as a development goal in some countries and regions. This book, the first of its kind, discusses how a country can become modernized. It takes a new approach to addressing core issues in the era of globalization from a Chinese perspective. It analyzes how to become a developed and modernized country, why are some countries developed while others are not, how many countries will rise and how many will fall, will China become a new modernized country in the 21st century, and so on. The author presents a summary of 15 annual reports of China Modernization Report from 2001 to 2016. The themes covered include: basic principles of modernization (modernization science, modernization theory and modernization evaluation), level-related modernization (world, international, national, regional and urban modernization), field-relative modernization (economical, social, cultural and ecological modernization) and sector-specified modernization (agricultural, industrial and service modernization) etc.The book further discusses the principles and methods of world modernization, as well as the trends in modernization in the world and the modernization strategy in China, based on theoretical studies and research by a Chinese team for more than 16 years. This research covered 131 countries and 96% of the world's population, with a time span of 300 years (from 1750 to 2050).

This book mainly studies China’s modernized national governance and development strategy driven by scientific and technological innovation. The book is divided into seven chapters, including: (1) China’s high-tech industrial clusters promoted by technological innovation competition; (2) China’s quantum technology development strategy; (3) The cooperative development of technological innovation industries and labor-intensive industrie in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area; (4) The conception and strategy of creating a Pacific Ocean outlet in northeast China (Tumen River) and making it a coastal economic area; (5) The transformation of Technological paradigm and the industrial revolution caused by the innovation of scientific cognition; (6) Logic and cognitive reasoning for management decision making; (7) Rational model of organization with systemic openness. This book attempts to summarize the outstanding contributions, theoretical innovation and possible directions of China’s high-tech development strategy, national governance experience, industrial development strategy, geopolitical strategy, modern management concept innovation, etc., in the background of high-tech development worldwide, and introduce to the world the experience and achievements of China’s modern national governance and development strategy choices, and the important role high-tech plays in the process.

William Shakespeare – born in April 1564 in Stratford on Avon – was the greatest dramatist of the age. Large audiences continue to patronize the great Shakespeare plays in live and filmed versions today – notably · "A Midsummer Night's Dream" – the whimsical comedy with several intertwining plots surrounding a celebrity marriage; · “Hamlet” – the story of a Prince of Denmark grappling with the death of his father and seeking revenge against a murdering uncle; · "Henry IV, Part 1" and "Henry IV, Part 2" – following the political struggles of King Henry IV and the coming-of-age of his son, Prince Hal, who later became Henry V; · “King Lear” – the aging king whose decision to divide his kingdom among his three daughters has tragic effects; · "Much Ado About Nothing", with its themes of love and deception, witty banter, and humorous misunderstandings throughout; · “Othello”, exploring themes of jealousy, betrayal, and racism in the tragic story of a Moorish general; · "Richard III", depicting the rise and fall of a scheming, manipulative, and murderous English monarch; · "The Tempest" exploring themes of magic, betrayal, and forgiveness on a remote island; · "The Winter's Tale" combining misfortune and comedy with a story line spanning a long period and strong themes of jealousy and redemption; and · "Twelfth Night" – the compelling tale of mistaken identity and love featuring a young woman disguise d as a man. However, four centuries-plus have inevitably lessened the readability and understandability of the original literary productions. This is a modernized compilation of the dramas – seeking to cut out archaic words, outdated grammar and spelling, and complex old-fashioned syntax while preserving their essence. Concise study guides go with each of the plays. These provide details of their dates (where available) and the complex characters and important events occurring in them. They also summarize the overall themes and plots and assess their general significance as pieces of dramatic art.
