BRITISH OCCUPATION ZONE, GERMANY, 1945: Former county cricketer Montgomery ‘Monty’ Bossitor finds himself in the ruins of post-war Germany tasked with selling off British Army surplus equipment. Two men came to personify British and German generalship in the Second World War: Bernard Montgomery and Erwin Rommel.
