After more than 20 years of research, the author was finally able to pull together more than 70,000 descendants of William Morss (b. in the 1600s) and his wife Elizabeth. By tracking the descendants of Anthony Morse of Essex County, MA she can identify more than 70,000 descendants. Many of these lines had been lost to history, including a more recent one of Joseph Willis Morse, whose son founded the precursor to the magazine "Vanity Fair" in Atlantic City. His son had '9' sons, each with large families of their own, none of whom were listed in the traditional histories. And so the search began.. One of the forgotten Morse lines is that of Peter Morss/Morse, who was born in Newbury, Essex County, Massachusetts - but then moved to Connecticut where he fought in the Revolutionary War. His sons and daughters moved west to Ohio and then to Illinois in Mercer County where they became farmers and miners in the nearby lead mines. The author's uncle, Donald Eugene Morse, came from this family and his son Vern Morse has spent years investigating the family, adding pictures and photos of them. Anthony Morse was born in England in 1606. He came to America in 1635 with his brother William, settling in Massachusetts. He married Mary and was the father of at least 12 children. He was probably married a second time but her identity is unknown. Information on many of his descendants including Daniel Webster is given in this material collected by his descendant Joseph Morse and his wife Marjorie. Descendants now live in Massachusetts, Oregon, New Hampshire, California, and elsewhere. .

This book presents the Morse family's genealogy through 13 generations, from 1635 to the early 1900s. It includes an extension of the line of Agnes Colby into the 21st Century, including linage, family stories, life information, and letters about the family. The table of contents contains the parental line through the book. We contacted family members for up-to-date information, but not all contributed. The material in this book will assist further research into the family heritage. The original printing of this book was by The Eagle Printing and Binding Co. This book was transcribed, and submitted articles were edited by James Olah, March 2020, during the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Pandemic, when the call was made for our nation not to leave their homes for several weeks.

Samuel Morse (1587-1654) immigrated to Watertown, Massachusetts in 1635. Anthony Morse (1618-1686) and his brother, William Morse (1614-1683), immigrated to Newbury, Massachusetts. Joseph Morse (d.1646) immigrated to Ipswich, Massachusetts. John Moss (1603 or 4-1707) immigrated to New Haven, Connecticut. All immigrated from England. Descendants listed lived chiefly in New England. Includes some ancestors in England.
