This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-conference proceedings of the 20th International Workshop on Multi-Agent-Based Simulation, MABS 2020, held in Auckland, New Zealand, in May 2020 collocated with 19th International Conference on Autonomous Agents and Multi-Agent Systems (AAMAS 2020). Due to COVID-19 the workshop has been held online. The 9 revised full papers included in this volume were carefully selected from 11 submissions. The workshop focused on finding efficient solutions to model complex social systems, in such areas as economics, management, organizational and social sciences in general and much more.

This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-conference proceedings of the 13th International Workshop on Multi-Agent-Based Simulation, MABS 2012, held in Valencia, Spain, in June 2012. The 11 revised full papers presented were carefully selected from 35 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on modeling social interactions; cognition and agents behaviors; agents, games and finance; and methodologies and tools.

This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed postproceedings of the Joint International Workshop on Multi-Agent and Multi-Agent-Based Simulation, MABS 2004, held in New York, NY, USA in July 2004. The 20 revised full papers presented have gone through two rounds of reviewing, selection, and improvement; they present state-of-the-art research results in agent-based simulation and modeling. The papers are organized in topical sections on simulation of multi-agent systems, techniques and technologies, methodology and modeling, social dynamics, and application.

This book is devoted to investigating and developing the synergy between software engineering for multi-agent systems and agent-based social simulation; it originates from the Second International Workshop on Multi-Agend-Based Simulation, MABS 2000, held in Boston, MA, USA in July 2000, in conjunction with ICAMS 2000. Besides the thoroughly revised full papers accepted for presentation at the workshop, two invited papers and an introductory survey by one of the volume editors have been added in order to round off the scope and achieve complete coverage of all relevant topics. The 10 revised selected and extended papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 21 submissions. The topics covered are MABS in scientometrics; MABS in politics, transit and policy; pedestrian, crowds and large scale MABS; and MABS modeling.

This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-conference proceedings of the 17th International Workshop on Multi-Agent-Based Simulation, MABs 2016, held in Singapore, in May 2016. The workshop was held in Conjunction with the 15th International Conference on Autonomous Agents and Multi-Agent Systems, AAMAS 2016. The 10 revised full papers included in this volume were carefully selected from 15 submissions. The topic of the papers is about modeling and analyzing multi-agent systems and applying agent-based simulation techniques to real-world problems, focusing on the confluence of socio-technical- natural sciences and multi-agents systems with a strong application/empirical vein. Special emphasis is given on exploratory agent-based simulation as a principled way of undertaking scientific research in the social sciences and on using social theories as an inspiration to new frameworks and developments in multi-agent systems.
