This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 5th Pacific-Asia Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining, PAKDD 2001, held in Hong Kong, China in April 2001. The 38 revised full papers and 22 short papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from a total of 152 submissions. The book offers topical sections on Web mining, text mining, applications and tools, concept hierarchies, feature selection, interestingness, sequence mining, spatial and temporal mining, association mining, classification and rule induction, clustering, and advanced topics and new methods.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 4th European Conference on Principles and Practice of Knowledge Discovery in Databases, PKDD 2000, held in Lyon, France in September 2000. The 86 revised papers included in the book correspond to the 29 oral presentations and 57 posters presented at the conference. They were carefully reviewed and selected from 147 submissions. The book offers topical sections on new directions, rules and trees, databases and reward-based learning, classification, association rules and exceptions, instance-based discovery, clustering, and time series analysis.

The two-volume set LNAI 6634 and 6635 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 15th Pacific-Asia Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining, PAKDD 2011, held in Shenzhen, China in May 2011. The total of 32 revised full papers and 58 revised short papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 331 submissions. The papers present new ideas, original research results, and practical development experiences from all KDD-related areas including data mining, machine learning, artificial intelligence and pattern recognition, data warehousing and databases, statistics, knoweldge engineering, behavior sciences, visualization, and emerging areas such as social network analysis.

The 67 revised full papers and 33 revised short papers presented together with 3 invited talks were carefully reviewed and selected from 501 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on Classification, Ensemble Learning, Clustering, Support Vector Machines, Text and Document Mining, Web Mining, Bio-Data Mining, and more.

Since the pioneering pharmacotherapy for treatment of schizophrenia in the 1950s by antipsychotics, only a few major innovations have been made, pointing to a general stagnation in the field of pharmacology of schizophrenia. Drug Discovery for Schizophrenia covers new insights in the field of schizophrenia with an aim to advance the understanding of scientists and clinicians in this area and to fuel drug discovery. The book outlines a change in the way schizophrenia is treated by moving away from focusing only on treating symptoms in patients.
