Available online: https://pub.norden.org/temanord2022-526/ New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) are an emerging tool in toxicology for performing chemical risk assessment. NAMs reduce animal testing while increasing robustness, throughput and providing a mechanistic understanding of chemical modes-of-actions, in accordance with the Next Generation Risk Assessment principles. The workshop’s objective was to increase risk assessors’ understanding of the data produced by NAMs and their ability to use it for regulatory actions under REACH and CLP. It aimed to highlight the main challenges for NAMs, discuss possible advancements in using NAMs, and increase knowledge and competence within the relevant Nordic authorities. It also served to facilitate discussions about the obstacles to implementing NAMs in regulatory processes, and to identify strategies (including omics approaches) for increasing their use in read-across and grouping processes.

Bronze ornaments of the Nordic Bronze Age were elaborate objects that served as status symbols to communicate social hierarchy. An interdisciplinary investigation of the artefacts (dating from 1500-1100 BC) was adopted to elucidate their manufacture and origin, resulting in new insights into metal craft in northern Europe during the Bronze Age.

The First Sourcebook on Nordic Research in Mathematics Education: Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Denmark and contributions from Finland provides the first comprehensive and unified treatment of historical and contemporary research trends in mathematics education in the Nordic world. The book is organized in sections co-ordinated by active researchers in mathematics education in Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Denmark, and Finland. The purpose of this sourcebook is to synthesize and survey the established body of research in these countries with findings that have influenced ongoing research agendas, informed practice, framed curricula and policy. The sections for each country also include historical articles in addition to exemplary examples of recently conducted research oriented towards the future. The book will serve as a standard reference for mathematics education researchers, policy makers, practitioners and students both in and outside the Nordic countries.

The purpose of this study was to clear out how Green Public Procurement has been realized in state framework contracts in the Nordic countries, to propose country-specific ways to improve the situation, and to draw a general model of efficient ways to realize green state framework contracts. The study was carried through in 2014 and 2015 by Bjørn Bauer and Rikke Fischer-Bogason (PlanMiljø, Denmark), Luitzen de Boer and Sigurd Vildåsen (Norwegian University of Science and Technology), and Timo Kivistö (Kivistö Consulting, Finland). The study was supervised by the Working Group of Nordic Council of Ministers for Sustainable Consumption and Production (i.e. HKP-group). In addition to this Full Report, the project has also resulted in a short Summary Report and a power point presentation (slides), including the key findings and conclusions.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 12th International Conference on Fundamental Approaches to Software Engineering, FASE 2009, held in York, UK, in March 2009, as part of ETAPS 2009, the European Joint Conferences on Theory and Practice of Software. The 30 revised full papers presented together with 2 tool demonstrations were carefully reviewed and selected from 123 regluar and 9 tool paper submissions. The topics addressed are model-driven development, synthesis and adaptation, modeling, testing and debugging, model analysis, patterns, security, queries and error handling, and tools (demos) and program analysis.
