Operations Research Proceedings 1999

This proceedings volume contains a selection of 87 papers presented at the Symposium on Operations Research (SOR 99) that was held at the Otto-von-Guericke-University of Magdeburg from September 1-3, 1999. The contributions cover developments in Mathematical Programming, Combinatorial Optimization, Graphs and Complexity, Control Theory, Stochastic Models and Optimization, Econometrics and Statistics, Mathematical Economics and Economic Theory, Game and Decision Theory, Experimental Economics, Artificial Intelligence, Neural Networks, and Fuzzy Systems, Information and Decision Support Systems, Finance, Banking, and Insurance, Scheduling and Project Planning, Transport and Traffic, Inventory and Logistics, Production, Marketing, Energy, Environment, and Health. In this broad field of subjects where Operations Research is applied both, most recent advances in theory and new successful applications to practice, are reported.

This volume contains the proceedings of the 200 I International Conference on Operations Research (OR 2(01) held at the Gerhard-Mercator-University Duisburg, September 3-5,2001. OR 200 1 was organized under the auspices of the German Society of Operations Research, Gesellschaft für Operations Research (GOR e. V.). The conference and the annual general meeting were attended by 360 participants from 20 countries. The presentation of 220 papers was organized in 15 sections. According to Duisburg as hosting city for this event OR 200 1 emphasized on contributions of OR in the areas of energy, transport and traftk. The program consisted of2 plenary lectures (Reinhard Selten and Jörg Hennerkes) and 15 invited semiplenary lectures. 97 papers were submitted for publication. Following the advice of the section chairs the program committee decided to accept 59 papers for this volume. The selected manuscripts will be published also in electronic form on the W orld Wide Web at http://www.uni-duisburg.de/or200 1. We want to thank all referees and authors for delivering their final manuscript in due time. We are also grateful to the other members of the local organizing committee and especially to Stefan Krebs, Corinna Schu and David Betge for the perfect conference management. First volume of the proceedings of the 15th National Conference of the Australian Society for Operations Research Inc. , held in Queensland in July 1999. Topics covered include using optimisation for competitive advantage in supply chain management, scheduling parallel machines with a single server, generating an efficient job shop layout, optimising approaches to train crew rostering, and solving large single allocation p-hub problems with two or three hubs. .Includes references and an author index.

This volume contains a selection of papers referring to lectures presented at the symposium "Operations Research 2003" (OR03) held at the Ruprecht Karls-Universitiit Heidelberg, September 3 - 5, 2003. This international con ference took place under the auspices of the German Operations Research So ciety (GOR) and of Dr. Erwin Teufel, prime minister of Baden-Wurttemberg. The symposium had about 500 participants from countries all over the world. It attracted academians and practitioners working in various field of Opera tions Research and provided them with the most recent advances in Opera tions Research and related areas in Economics, Mathematics, and Computer Science. The program consisted of 4 plenary and 13 semi-plenary talks and more than 300 contributed papers selected by the program committee to be presented in 17 sections. Due to a limited number of pages available for the proceedings volume, the length of each article as well as the total number of accepted contributions had to be restricted. Submitted manuscripts have therefore been reviewed and 62 of them have been selected for publication. This refereeing procedure has been strongly supported by the section chairmen and we would like to express our gratitude to them. Finally, we also would like to thank Dr. Werner Muller from Springer-Verlag for his support in publishing this proceedings volume.

This book gathers a selection of peer-reviewed papers presented at the International Conference on Operations Research (OR 2019), which was held at Technische Universität Dresden, Germany, on September 4-6, 2019, and was jointly organized by the German Operations Research Society (GOR) the Austrian Operations Research Society (ÖGOR), and the Swiss Operational Research Society (SOR/ASRO). More than 600 scientists, practitioners and students from mathematics, computer science, business/economics and related fields attended the conference and presented more than 400 papers in plenary presentations, parallel topic streams, as well as special award sessions. The respective papers discuss classical mathematical optimization, statistics and simulation techniques. These are complemented by computer science methods, and by tools for processing data, designing and implementing information systems. The book also examines recent advances in information technology, which allow big data volumes to be processed and enable real-time predictive and prescriptive business analytics to drive decisions and actions. Lastly, it includes problems modeled and treated while taking into account uncertainty, risk management, behavioral issues, etc.

This international conference took place under the auspices of the German Operations Research Society (GOR). The symposium had about 600 participants from countries all over the world. It attracted academics and practitioners working in various fields of Operations Research and provided them with the most recent advances in Operations Research as well as related areas in Economics, Mathematics, and Computer Science including the special interest streams Logistics and New Maritime Businesses. The program consisted of 3 plenary and 15 semi-plenary talks and about 400 contributed presentations selected by the program committee to be presented in 20 sections.

This book constitutes the proceedings of the 20th International Conference on Mathematical Optimization Theory and Operations Research, MOTOR 2021, held in Irkutsk, Russia, in July 2021. The 29 full papers and 1 short paper presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 102 submissions. Additionally, 2 full invited papers are presented in the volume.
