Paintball Communication 101

I'd like to introduce Paintball Communication 101: A Guide to Tournament Paintball Communication, brought to you by Spearhead Sports and written by me Stuart Ridgel. Spearhead Sports is a paintball company focused around educating paintball players on how to play the sport of paintball and become better athletes all around. Whether you're playing competitive tournament speedball or just having fun in the woods with scenario play, we have something for you. If you're interested in becoming a better player; shooting more players and getting shot less, you have to learn some technical skills and make sure your mind and body is in good physical shape to compete. This is why I wanted to create something that will help focus on improving your game and teach you a few things you might not know. This book is meant to be a starting place and a resource to break down the different aspect of tournament paintball communication. You can tweak, add your own concepts or build off of the information I've provided. I'm always looking to learn new things and I know I still have a lot to learn in life and in paintball. Paintball has always been a huge part of my life and the moments I've experienced have been life changing. Paintball 101™ explains the basics of the game of paintball form the beginning to forming your own tournament team, written at a level that newer players will be able to easily grasp. This book is primarily an overview of the game, touching on topics from getting started to the various styles of the game, basic strategies and basic paintball plays. The book also goes into detail on what to expect the first time you walk on to a paintball field, what the typical costs may be and how to prepare so that your first experience is an enjoyable one. This book also provides a brief explanation and comparison on some of the paintball gear along with the authors’ impressions on what he considers to be the best choices for certain styles of play. In addition the book addresses common mistakes by newer players as well as basic skills that newer players need to constantly work on to become better. For those players who want to take their game to the next level, the book also explains how to organize and start a tournament paintball team and enjoy competitive paintball at least at a local level.

This is a new, brief, economical text that stresses the importance of public communication in contemporary life. Through its numerous examples and excellent companion collection of sample speeches, the book and its media program integrate vital themes of our time and invite students to make the connection between their basic public speaking class and such important issues as ethics, religious identity, diversity, health, medicine, education, and the environment.
