Phenomenal Stories Vol 2 No 8 August 2019

In our 12th issue of Phenomenal Stories we celebrate, well, 12 months - a full year - of the magazine. We open with a sequel to the first wizard story - 'The Red Wizard' - 'The Blue Wizard' by J.D. Hayes-Canell. We also continue 'Time: Book 01: Timenami' by Shawn M. Tomlinson and the Hal Johnson Adirondack mystery, 'An Old-Fashioned Shooting' by Richard H. Nilsen. Next month, we continue our celebration with our Special Double Anniversary Issue. We look forward to the start of our second year with not only Phenomenal Stories, but also the sister publications, Phenomenal Stories Quarterly, Phenomenal Novels Magazine, Phenomenal Fiction Magazine and our annual best of, Lost Carcosa. Phenomenal Stories is a modern-day tribute to the science fiction/horror/fantasy/speculative pulp magazines of the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s.

We conclude 2019 with Phenomenal Stories Quarterly #5, Winter 2019, Vol. 2, No. 4, collecting together Phenomenal Stories #14, October; Phenomenal Stories #15, November; and Phenomenal Stories #16, December. Young women bound for Islamic State, or "Free Speech" protests for Tommy Robinson--radicalization spans ideologies. Though an often-used term, the process of radicalization is not well understood, and the role of gender within it is often ignored. This book reveals the centrality of gender to radicalization, using primary research among two of Britain's key extremist movements: the banned Islamist group al-Muhajiroun, and those networked to it; and the anti-Islam radical right, including the English Defence League and Britain First.
