The third in a series of 7 fun-filled activity books for children covers the first group of letter sounds. Jolly Phonics teaches children to read and write using synthetic phonics in a fun and engaging way. Each of these 36 page activity books for children aged 3+, includes 2 pages of stickers providing a range of fun activities for children to complete, including colouring, handwriting practice, puzzles, mazes, games, craft activities, word & picture matching and flash cards. There is a story for each of the letter sounds as well as the letter sound action, introducing synthetic phonics in a fun and multi-sensory way, giving children solid support at home.

These topics introduce the main alternative vowel spellings, capital letters, alphabet, and new tricky words, as well as basic sentence structure through regular guided writing activities. In this new edition, there are two Student Books, one for each semester. The transitions from Steps 1 to 3 are clearly signposted with a welcome page at the beginning of each step and a reward on completion. The front cover displays a new logo indicating that Jolly Phonics is aligned with both the Science of Reading and the Science of Writing, as the program provides explicit teaching of phonemic awareness, alongside systematic phonics and writing instruction, with a focus on improving fluency, vocabulary acquisition, and reading comprehension.
