Dear friend, We know it deeply. It is so hard to juggle work, home, and spiritual life. As working women, we've wrestled with tough questions: · How can I be effective in my work, and stay committed to the Gospel? · How can I be dedicated to my family, when my job is so demanding? · Why am I working so hard, and still so unfulfilled? Sound familiar? Like you, we see a culture that promotes success at all costs, and working women are falling for it. It's happening every day. Priorities are shifting. Things are getting done . . . but are we doing what matters most? And that's why we wrote this book. This is the story of how we traded the lies of the world for the truth of our loving Father--the lessons we learned that challenged culture's "good things" so we could find the greatest thing. The book you're holding in your hands is really a conversation--a conversation that pushes back against our culture with a Gospel-centered approach to work and womanhood, for the glory of God and the good of others. Let's get to work. His way. Michelle + Somer "This is the book for every working woman!"--ALLI WORTHINGTON, bestselling author and business coach

This is a contemporary, practical and relevant book about how to understand and apply the Bible in your everyday life. It is a superb book filled with biblically-based ways to achieve a significantly improved and healthier life. It is intentionally written using ordinary, everyday language, avoiding dogmatic, confusing and religious jargon. The book is not just for Christians, but anyone who desires to live a better life. This is not a book about religion, it is about how to effectively use the Bible to live a successful life. Evan Wride is an ordinary guy, who has read the Bible and uses it to manage his life. He is passionate, relentlessly practical and writes as if he is talking with a friend. His words, thoughts and perspectives are modern-day, heartfelt and action oriented. “Your Life User Manual” is a real-world look at the main issues we face as humans and specific ways the Bible answers them. The topics are a litany of our everyday concerns: setting priorities & plans, finances, time management, mental and physical health, addiction, love, marriage, children, dating, relationships, sex, career, co-workers, making good choices, our reason for being here and our individual uniqueness. This is not a counseling book, it is a book of God’s time proven direction for how to live productive lives. Too many of us rely on ourselves, others and society for wisdom and the results are less than satisfactory. Going to the source for answers provides you with knowledge, wisdom and purpose for your, one and only, life. We have all contemplated that there must be more to life in order to achieve the meaning and significance we are all searching for. This book will specifically direct you in how to learn to "do life" according to the Bible, which will transform your life so you can become all you were intended to be. You will discover how to live your best life.

Basic Christian Living is a survey course covering the fundamentals of the Christian life. The book's topics can be divided into three broad categories: basic doctrine for new believers (confession of sin, the nature of worship, assurance of salvation, and more), basic wisdom for living in community(relationships, conversation, the meaning of masculinity and femininity, etc.), and cultural criticism for beginners (authenticity, the "cool," and competition and ambition, for starters). Each bite-size chapter contains a worksheet of questions from relevant portions of the Bible, along with a full answer key. Whether you're a teacher wanting to offer a practical class on Christianity for students, a pastor needing a text for new believers, or a mature Christian reviewing the big picture, Basic Christian Living is a helpful, important, and encouraging introduction to the foundations of the gospel.

Do your Monday actions reflect your Sunday worship? How about your claims to faith? Is your life full of noticeable changes and actions? James, the half-brother of Jesus, wasn't impressed with talk. He knew that a life of faith was all about actions that revealed a difference in a person's life. For him, it was not that works save the Christian, but that they mark the Christian. In his letter, he boldly deals with practical issues of faith not bound by culture or place. He shows the importance of living a genuine life of faith. His message is bare-knuckled as he encourages, challenges, and confronts, offering practical words and admonitions to live out our faith. As you read, study, journal, and discuss the book of James, watch for these key themes that Max will unpack throughout the book: God gives us true wisdom. Satan tempts to break us; God tests to strengthen us. The words we use are powerful and influential. Faith and good deeds go hand in hand. The Life Lessons with Max Lucado series brings the Bible to life in twelve lessons filled with intriguing questions, inspirational stories, and poignant reflections to take you deeper into God's Word. Each lesson includes: An opening reflection on the Bible book you're studying. Background information to deepen your understanding of the cultural and historical setting. An excerpt of the text (from the NIV and the NKJV). Exploration questions with plenty of room to write your own thoughts and notes. Inspirational thoughts from Max as well as a closing takeaway for further reflection. The Life Lessons series is ideal for use in both a small-group setting or for individual study.

The idea for this conference came from a meeting of the IFIP (International Federation for Information Processing) Technical Committee for Information Systems (TC8) in Guimares, Portugal in June 2005. Our goal is to build an IFIP forum among the different Information Systems Communities of TC8 dealing with the increasing important area of Enterprise Information Systems. In this particular meeting the committee members intensively discussed the innovative and unique characteristics of Enterprise Information Systems as scientific sub-discipline. Hence, in this meeting it was decided by the TC8 members that the IFIP TC8 First International Conference on Research and Practical Issues of Enterprise Information Systems (CONFENIS 2006) would be held in April 2006 in Vienna, Austria. Dr. Li Xu (USA) and Dr. A Min Tjoa (IFIP TC8) were assigned to propose a concept for this conference in order to establish an IFIP platform for EIS researchers and practitioners in the field to share experience, and discussing opportunities and challenges. We are very pleased therefore to have this conference organised by the help of the Austrian Computer Society (OCG). OCG supports the idea of this conference due to the urgent need of research and dissemination of new techniques in this key area. We received 180 papers from more than 30 countries for CONFENIS and the Program Committee eventually selected xx papers or extended abstracts, making an acceptance rate of xx% of submitted papers. Each paper was thoroughly reviewed by at least two qualified reviewers.
