Most of the papers presented at the 1990 West Coast Conference on Formal Linguistics are included in this volume. This annual publication, not readily available in the past, makes the latest research in formal linguistics available to a wider audience. Forty-one papers from the 1991 West Coast Conference on Formal Linguistics are included. The papers deal with diverse topics ranging from the traditional linguistic fields of phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics to the rapidly developing areas of cognitive and discourse linguistics.

This volume contains 52 papers presented at the 35th West Coast Conference on Formal Linguistics, which took place from April 28-30, 2017 at the University of Calgary. The papers include the three keynote presentations from Neil Banerjee, B. Elan Dresher, and Keir Moulton.

These conference proceedings examine various aspects of formal linguistics. Individual topics covered include: sequences of tense, intentionality and scope; empty consonants and direct prosody; syllable weight and quantity in Dutch; finite control on modern Persian; and copular sentences.

This is a compilation of papers presented at the Seventeenth Annual Meeting of the West Coast Conference on Formal Linguistics, held February 20-22, 1998 in Vancouver, Canada, hosted by the University of British Columbia Department of Linguistics. The conference drew a large number of participants, from around the world. The fifty papers in this volume address theoretical issues in Syntax, Phonology, the Syntax-Semantics and Syntax-Phonology interfaces, and Language Acquisition, and provide an exciting view of current theory in these areas.
