This book explores the innovations, disruptions and changes that are required to adapt in a fast-evolving landscape due to the extraordinary circumstances triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic. Recognized experts from around the world share their research and professional experience on how the working environment, as well as the world around them, have changed due to the pandemic. Chapters consider how different fields across technology and business have been affected by this new, dramatic scenario and the drastic consequences that the pandemic had on them. With diverse contributions stemming from public health, technology strategies, urban planning and sociology to sustainable management, this volume is articulated into four distinct but complementary sections of People, Process, Planet, and Prosperity influencing the post-COVID world. This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the tracks and workshops which complemented the 14th European Conference on Software Architecture, ECSA 2020, held in L'Aquila, Italy*, in September 2020. The 30 full papers and 9 short papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 72 submissions. This book summarizes the research findings presented at the 3rd International Conference on Novel & Intelligent Digital Systems (NiDS 2023). NiDS 2023 held in Athens, Greece, during September 28–29, 2023, under the auspices of the Institute of Intelligent Systems. The conference was implemented hybrid, allowing participants to attend it either online or onsite. NiDS 2023 places significant importance on the innovations within intelligent systems and the collaborative research that empowers and enriches artificial intelligence (AI) in software development. It encourages high-quality research, establishing a forum for investigating the obstacles and cutting-edge breakthroughs in AI. This book includes a set of selected best-extended papers from the 10th International Conference on Simulation and Modeling Methodologies, Technologies and Applications (SIMULTECH 2020) that was held as an online event from July 8 to 10, 2020. The conference brought together researchers, engineers, and practitioners interested in methodologies and applications of modeling and simulation. New and innovative solutions are reported in this book. A selection was made after the conference, based also on the conference chairs assessment, reviewers’ assessment, quality of presentation, and audience interest, so that this book includes the extended and revised versions of the very best papers of the conference.
